Christie accuses Democratic rival of mocking his weight

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday called it “unfortunate” that Democratic gubernatorial nominee Barbara Buono seemed to take a jab at his weight at a recent political event.

"For me and for other folks across New Jersey, many folks who are challenged by their weight, the fact that someone running for governor would make derisively comments about someone’s physical appearance I think is really beneath the office that she’s seeking and I’m disappointed that she’s done it," Christie said at a press conference in Newark. "But she’s playing out of the Corzine Playbook in that way.”

Yeah, it's a tacky thing for his opponent to take a jab at this weight, but the point is he is obese and unhealthy nevertheless.

He makes me sick just like all republicans, they're a nasty lot (just read what names the Obama's have been called the last five years) and no complaints. The truth is, he knows he's fat but he uses excuses because he's too lazy to really do anything about it and I have my doubt about the lap band surgery. A typical republican crybaby.

It seems to me Republicans will attack anyone over any personal fault or defect. Remember McConnell's assertion a woman who hadn't even announced her candidacy had her medical records made public (clear HIPPA violation, BTW). Never mind all the faults they have accused the President of having.
Christie does have a weight issue (as do many of us), he is working on it. The big man needs to get over it-that's what his party does, and that's the way politics works. He isn't THAT thin skinned.

But there is so much to jab at which also includes his weight. His policies are wrong now and when he first took office. People think that he is a moderate but is really an ideologue. Look at his not even considering renewing a tax on the wealthy.

Sorry gov but he is NOT the only one talking about your weight. You yourself made fun of it on the Letterman show while eating a donut.
If you didn't think your weight matter in 2016 and beyond (good luck on both and all) you wouldn't have had surgery to drop some pounds.
Your problem is that your girth makes you look more like a bully when you confront and call somebody an idiot for asking you questions and you get mad.
Fat or not you will not be president because we don't need the president of the US to punch Putin's lights out for real.
