Michele Bachmann: Obama ‘used to being George III’

Washington (CNN) – Tea party firebrand Rep. Michele Bachmann was unabashed in her criticism of Obamacare and the president it’s named for Thursday night, comparing President Barack Obama with a British tyrant.

“He’s used to being George III,” the Minnesota Republican said of what she described as the president’s refusal to negotiate with Congressional Republicans over the continuing resolution to fund the government.

George III was king of England during the American Revolution.

Bachmann was debating the topics of Obamacare and the Republican plan to defund it on CNN’s “Crossfire” with Rep. Charles Rangel, D-New York.

In a heated exchange, the two displayed some of the fierce contention consuming Congress over the looming federal shutdown threat.

Bachmann continually argued that neither she nor Republicans have any interest in shutting down the government, only in defunding Obamacare by tying it in with a continuing resolution to fund the government. Variations of that plan have been pursued by Congresses of the past in attempts to kill a variety of pieces of legislation, Bachmann said.

Shutting down the federal government is “the last thing we’re going to do,” Bachmann said, pointing out that Obamacare has become an increasingly unpopular law that she and other Republicans consider to be socialized medicine.

Rangel countered that the defund plan is a nonstarter, doomed to fail in the Democrat-controlled Senate. “It’s ridiculous and they know that it can’t be done,” he said.

Republicans want to “kill everything the president stands for,” Rangel said. “That’s not negotiation. That’s putting a gun to the president’s head.”

Rangel argued that Obama in fact got reelected on the issue of Obamacare.

To that Bachmann countered: “And so did I.”

Bachman and the Republicans keep saying they want the President to negotiate the Healthcare Plan. They want it to go away. What are they offering him in exchange? A negotiation is a give and take exercise. The Republicans want to take away Obama Care. What are they willing to give in exchange??

The only thing Bachmann has going for is that the extreme right wing and Tea party extremist love to hear her ridiculous sound bites that always lack facts or common sense.

God bless you Tea party. There will never be another Republican president as long as you hold sway in your party. You idea to blame the poor for everything wrong in our country and your pandering to the ultra rich and big business has completely left you out of touch with reality. Keep up the good work.

Bachmann also ran for President and couldn't make it past her party too. Perhaps a message was sent that she does even not represent the will of even a fraction of the American people, just a fraction of a portion of a single state... at best.

Michelle obviously knows nothing about tyrants. If she did, it would be the republicans in the house that she would compare to tyrants instead of Obama. The house republicans are the ones acting like terrorists, holding America hostage to get what they want. If I were Obama, I would let them do what they have threatened to do. America should know to blame the House for this.

Obama and the pope have alot in common. They both have followers who don't have a clue. 2 Timothy 4:1-4 basically says there will come a time when people will elect a leader who will not tell them Biblical truths. Instead they will tell people what they want to hear, especially to get their votes and remain popular with those who don't have a clue.

Well Bachmann proved she knows nothing about US history with so many mistakes during her campaign as even little kids had to correct her. But she seems to read about Wills and Kate's baby George. Knowing she would not get elected and under criminal investigation she might pray Obama care is available because she will need it. Freeloading off the taxpayers days are over. Michelle did give Putin a good laugh at how stupid she is along with her Tea Party friends. Egypt laughed at how silly and dumb Bachmann, King and Gohmert were when they visited.

I used to think that it was ridiculous to think CNN was somehow promoting Democrats. But now I get it. Any headline with Bachmann, Palin, or Last years cast of loonies, makes the Democrats look good. I wish they would put more of the moderate GOP people with some real opinions, to promote more intelligent discussions

Obama is a tyrant and Bachmann is an angel. All politicians are good. The problem is you have to decide to vote for a bad person or one that is worse.
