House GOP already planning for next Obamacare fight

Washington (CNN) – Two hours before the House passed a short term spending bill that defunded Obamacare–something Senate Democrats said they will reject next week–House Republicans met to plan their next attack on President Barack Obama's signature health care law.

House Speaker John Boehner and other top leaders outlined a lengthy GOP wish list of items they plan to attach to legislation raising the nation's debt limit, including a delay of Obamacare.

It is a shame that congress shuts down our government and will still get paid while our seniors, veterans, and our military will not. Pubes sure caused a drop in the market today.

LOL! So essentially it boils down o pandering to Big Oil, pandering to Big Coal, destroying SS and Medicare, giving more and more tax breaks and preferential tax treatment to the rich and corporations and, of course, they want their "pony" too....all packaged as a black mail ultimatum of "we have the debt ceiling hostage...if you don't give us what we demand, we will shoot the hostage and force the country to default on its debts."

"And one thing you'll see is six times since 1985 have the president and Congress negotiated the debt ceiling."

NEVER before did Congress open "negotiations" by saying "do as we say or we blow everything up." NEVER. Those prior negotiations were undertaken in mostly good faith and involved both sides making concessions. Not once did the other party in Congress ever just tell the POTUS that he either gives them everything they want or they will refuse to raise the debt ceiling and cause a default. NEVER. Boehner's statement is just another example of the GOP/Teatrolls' efforts to rewrite history and use gross overgeneralizations and superficial gloss-overs to mislead and misinform the 'Murkin public.

So what has Obama done to change these laws??? NOTHING. He had the senate and house the first year and still did nothing but Obamacare. The past is the past and yes I would say mistakes were done how about living in the present, what about the past 5 years. And don't give me the house would not pass it bs cause Obama has not even tried!!!!!!!
    ------
Actually, the Medicare/Medicaid rate was just raised. Republicans blocked raising SSI. I'm surprised that you've forgotten about the Stimulus bill during the first year. BTW, the ACA was passed during his second year. And, as far as the present goes, the annual deficit has been reduced by 60% since FY2008-09, Bush's last budget.

Finally, I will not tell you that House would not pass Pres. Obama's budget. I won't because earlier this year, when the Senate did pass the President's budget, one Senator Cruz blocked the process to allow the Senate budget to go to the House for negotiations.

Sorry Rudy total fail, sometime you have good points but this one is a fail. First Medicare/Medicaid exemption does not help MOST middle class families because they do not qualify for it, well Medicaid and you have to retire for Medicare to benefit you (or do I have that backwards, either way point is still the same, never had to use either yet so I can't remember). Budget and all that jazz definitely needs to be passed in my mind but that still does not directly help the middle class unless I am missing something. Basically you tried to state what Obama has achieved and none directly help the middle class. I think it is you that likes to say "sorry but we gotcha" or something like that.

Oh and thank you for correcting me couldn't remember if the ACA passed 1st or 2nd year.

I have change my mind about calling the weeper of the house bo ner. He is now a third class eunuch.
Just heard on the radio on the way home from work that some tea tard's reason for cutting back food stamps is because if you are receiving food stamps you need to go out and work.
Seniors who have worked all their lives are not going to be able to eat (Meals on Wheels anyone?) Children? Are we going to have children working in factories? A LOT of families on food stamps have two or three jobs.
This also comes from some fool who does as little work as possible and take the longest vacations known to man.
If they were part of corporate America and not some cretins making their own rules they would be standing in the unemployment lines and going to food banks or clinics looking for the food and medical care they want to deny Americans!
The tea tards should be ashamed of themselves. They are not even human beings with anything close to a conscience. Psychopaths all!

Oh and the stimulus bill is highly debatable whether or not it help the economy let alone the middle class, sure didn't help me in any way. The previous article was about the middle class and I have yet to see anything Obama has done to help the middle class aside from the ACA which seems to be hurting them (or at least me so far).

Please President Obama, don't negotiate with terrorists! I think shutting down the government would be devastating to the economy and would set back the economic recovery five years. But if that's what it takes to prevent the country from
being taken over by the Tea Party Taliban, then let's do it.

I agree with Marie and Tom.
Brace yourselves we're going down...but if we do go down due to the Republican's brand of terrorism it will be like that flight that crashed over Pennsylvania on 9/11.
They are acting like terrorists. Deal with them as such.
Saty tough, stay strong, stay smart Mr. President.
God bless and goodnight to one and all.

If you agree with the GOP on this, then you need help! Google ACA and read the real facts not the GOP/Fox 'spews" manufactured facts that you love to repeat. Your politicians are playing you beyond belief. They have learned you will believe anything they tell you. I'm sure they laugh at you poor gullible followers everyday. I too would like to laugh, but this is getting way beyond comprhension, and as long as you poor misguided "people" obey there command we will all suffer. Please pull your head out!

Just like Cruz, Boehner knows that the bill to defund Obamacare is doomed. Unlike Cruz, Boehner is not waiting for the bill to fail. He is already planning the next useless, doomed bill.

Mr. President must expect the worst from the Repubs, but must not negotiate as he said. If the government fails let it be historic. Its very worrisome that the entire Repub demands are for the rich. The Repubs dont want the middle class and poor benefit from the union. They are the King George 111. If there is history to make its allowing US democracy take its real shape eventually..........practice government by majority. If the Repubs want it that way, let the HOSTAGE issue be sorted by American in 2014. No type of terrorism must be allowed to succeed in US.
