Pelosi: Hillary Clinton more ready for WH than husband or Obama was

Washington (CNN) - House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi continued to offer effusive praise for Hillary Clinton, saying the former secretary of state would be one of the best-prepared incoming presidents if she decided to run in 2016.

"If she does, she will win and when she becomes president, she'll be one of the best-equipped, best-prepared people to enter the White House in a very long time," Pelosi said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Noting Clinton's experience as secretary of state, as a U.S. senator from New York and as a first lady, Pelosi said Clinton would be "more prepared than President Obama; certainly more prepared than President Bush; certainly more prepared than President Clinton I might admit."

Asked by CNN's chief political correspondent Candy Crowley if Clinton would be more prepared than Vice President Joe Biden, Pelosi said Biden is also "very prepared."

"And I think President Bush Sr. was prepared. He was - had been a vice president," she said. "But I'm talking about recent memory of presidents that we have had."

Like Clinton, Biden has not ruled out another presidential run. His trips to Iowa and South Carolina in the last week added fire to the speculation.

But would Pelosi prefer Clinton or Biden?

"You know what, when they just announce that they're running, I'll let you know," she said.

"I always have had a habit of saying when you're serious about running, I'll be serious about it," she added. "But I think it would be magnificent for America to have a woman president. I think it would be just wonderful."

A poll released by CNN/ORC International released last week indicated Clinton would have 65% support among Democrats, with Biden a distant second at 10%, in a potential Democratic primary.

    What Bear said.
The only Clinton has accomplished is she remain un-indicted and has racked up masses of frequent flier miles.
The world is NOT a safer place for her having served. NY state is NOT a better state because she moved there to get elected. Why is Arkansas a better place because she served? Is the Rose Law Firm a better company because of her service?
One thing she HAS accomplished thru 'public service' is the filling of the family coffers and a massive war chest because she has been a 'good soldier' for the party.
If only she would put country ahead of party, we might have someone to consider but the seem small chance of that.

A female president would be a fine thing for this country. But please, please, please not THIS ONE!

Whether she runs or not, she will be the biggest influence in America for galvanizing the "get out and vote democrat" crowd that this country has ever seen. As a liberal, I am looking so forward to 2014 and 2016.

Hillary was much more "prepared" than Obama in the 2008 primary when Pelosi still threw her under the bus. So, maybe Pelosi should qualify Clinton as "super duper" prepared now...

Btw, Ms Pelosi, Bush Sr was also CIA Director in addition to being VP...back in the day when qualifications for office mattered.

LOL...Pelosi says she is prepared...as if that's not a wink to a bid to become part of the administration.

hasn't this country learned its lesson yet - we have been over 7% unemployment since Obama took office - our debt has more than doubled as has our deficit and we continue to wage war

Hillary in the White House would kill the Middle Class and throw us into recession –and your IRA's and 401k plans will TANK with Hillary

Yes, we need Clinton because we need to keep going in getting all our political correct motivations taken care of. Now if we can just find a female to run who is Hispanic and also gay then we could cover all the bases.

What has Hillary Clinton accomplished? Uhhh, don't crowd the keyboard there fellas....
Did nothing in Congress (she was there, remember?), and left the State Dept in shambles, still trying to put together a viable story about Benghazi.
She's female. THAT will get her elected. We are a nation that elects its stars. Notice I said "stars", not "proven executives". And the press loves it. Proven executives are too boring; there would be nothing scandalous or incredible to cover!!

Have we not had enough of this lying bunch of scoundrels quite long enough? The whole country is mad at one another under the wussy administration of the liberal cartel. The majority of citizens was against Obamacare from the start and it was shoved down our throats by the most devious means, then freedom of religion was breached and the narcissus in the white house wants to take us to another war that no one in the world supports. More joblessness than at any other time in our history, bankrupt cities managed by the same ideology, and more murders in our cities than one can remember and on and on and on. Time for a change. Hire a professional or an experienced leader with proven visible credentials, to sort out what “get rich on the backs of the people” politicians have screwed up.

Anyone that has ever served in a top executive leadership capacity knows that there is no true way to prepare for the nuances, the unique scenarios other than being in the role.

Being Sec-of-State no doubt exposed her to relevant foreign affairs OJT that presidents [or candidates] at least as far back as Daddy Bush and before him going back to Eisenhower DID NOT have.

Being the junior senator from NY didn't do much to prepare her other than give her commaradirere with members of the legislative branch. Obama had this, Baby Bush & Bill Clinton did not, nor did Reagan, Carter, Nixon. But LBJ did. I suspect once elected, Hillary might be a tougher SOB than LBJ was and I'm sure that terrifies GOP opponents.

Being the 1st lady; well she'd be unique among predecessors but I question the practical executive building value of sleeping with the Commander in Chief. OK, so she met a few world leaders at state dinners and on a few trips, big deal. It's not like ANY world leader isn't going to take ca call from the President of the US, no matter who it is.

We know that Hilary is smart; and we know that she is has sharp elbows when required, we know that she is tenacious. If you are honest with yourselves, you have to admit whether you think she has been wholely successful, or not, Hiliary Clinton should be able to hit the ground running in a way that we have not seen in many Presidents since Daddy Bush or perhaps Nixon {remember, he was Ike's VP}.

Hillary is the most polarizing figure in politics today! With that in mind, she would never, ever, be able to build a viable bridge across the aisles of congress! You think things are bad now, with government shutdowns threatened every year, just think about how it might be with her at the wheel! Bill in the halls screwing every intern he can, scandals left and right, she would probably be in jail before the end of her first year!
