Reid: Senate will reject House bill

Washington (CNN) – As expected, the Senate will reject the latest version of the House bill that would fund the government but would delay Obamacare by one year.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's spokesman issued a statement Sunday, saying the Senate will send a clean bill–one without the anti-Obamacare provisions–back to the House on Monday, just hours before the government nears a midnight deadline to avert a shutdown.

Read the full statement:

"Knowing full well that the Senate would reject their empty political stunts, House Republicans voted to increase the deficit, deny women coverage for critical preventative services like contraception, and deny affordable health care to millions of Americans," Adam Jentleson said. "Tomorrow, the Senate will do exactly what we said we would do and reject these measures. At that point, Republicans will be faced with the same choice they have always faced: put the Senate's clean funding bill on the floor and let it pass with bipartisan votes, or force a Republican government shutdown."

How do terrorists attack governments? They violently attack the educational systems and police. They hold people hostage with force.

So would you call a small group of people attacking our education and police by defunding them, while threatening to shut down the FBI because they don't want to help sick people, white collar terrorists?

Left to the Republicans we would be mired in another war in Syria. We have a peaceful, thoughtful President who God has placed in the WH for such a time as this. Now we are negotiating about discarding nuclear weapons instead of killing people. There is also a possibility of negotiating with Iran about their nuclear weapons as well. I would trust this President than this arrogant Cruz, yay who thinks too highly of himself. Boehner has lost his position of speaker, everything is dictated to him since he last negotiated the deal with the President and was undermined by Eric Cantor.

To Stuffit: You realize that the bill that Harry Reid is talking about passing as "clean" is the Republican bill minus the Obamacare provisions right? So, any dirty tricks in the bill would be Republican. But, I"m sure Fox will get around to telling you that at some point.

Hooray for the GOP every attempt to abolish Obama Care should be taken no matter what is needed. If Obama Care is forced down our throats , Just make sure all the congressman , senators , president and all his flunkies have to be under the same program as the rest of the country. NO EXCEPTIONS as written in the Constitution Article 28

What a bunch of tools...liberals THINK they've got all the answers... . the fact that THEIR policies are dragging this once great nation down doesn't seem to matter. The fact that we have more racial tension than ever / that the U.S. is the laughing stock of the free world / and that we've seen the worst economic recovery...all under a Democrat President and Democrat controlled Senate (2/3s of the executive branch) – doesn't seem to matyer.

Nothing new here Reid is totally out of his mind.

It will be the Senate not the House that will cause the Government shut down because of their backwards thinking who will blink first.

Anybody that re-elected anyone who voted for Obamacare should have never been re-elected that's how stupid our voters are.

This bill will cost us trillions of tax payer dollars and sink us deeper into debt unless you use fuzzy math like Obama and Clinton.

Obamacare has already been extended for other companies why not wait until it's ready like 50 years from now.

Like the majority of Congress they still haven't read the bill it's full of crap we don't need and it is the start of Socialism.

The Government is forcing us to take something we don't want it's either socialism or dictatorship either one it's not the USA.

As of now, we need to make sure all republicans, and tea party members are signed up for conscription. They need to be forced into service, and into heated battle. Second, we need to take every republican, including tea party members off any and all public service funded programs. No more social security, no medicare, and no more assistance of any kind. Next, take all of the members of the parties unable to come to resolution and bar them from pay, and benefits. This might pull the plug on some of this bullshit, and make the government work for those of us that want to see it work.

Whatever happened to the concept of compromise? As the leader of this country, our President needs to set the tone for the country. I can't remember once in his 2 terms that Obama and his accomplice Harry Reid, have offered a meaningful compromise on any important piece of legislation. The attitude is "my way or the highway". I guess the Republicans are once again choosing "the highway". If Obama wants to gain cooperation from the Republicans in Congress he needs to be willing to compromise – like all effective U.S. Presidents have done, especially when they don't have a majority in one or both houses.

If it had been a clean CR, then there would be no issue with this. Why do the teapublicans insist the GOP House leadership take on the ACA now rather than during the normal course of events and find the problem points to talk about the ACA?

So Harry Reid is the one who will shut down government rather than listen to the majority of Americans who don't want Obamacare.

Harry Reid and President Obama have learned through six years of Republican obstruction of everything that you cannot negotiate with an extortionist. If you give them even a portion of what they want, next time they will demand more.

The GOP wants to take the food out of poor childs mouth, so that they can subsidize, rich farmers instead. Welfare for the wealthy is not just totally unacceptable, but disgraceful, too. As usual they fight tooth and nail for $pecial interests, while they ignore suffering Americans.

Does "Economic Terrorism" fall under Obama's drone program?
If so, can we get rid of these unpatriotic TeaP/Republicans holding the fate of our economy hostage?
Hurting all of America to make one man (it's President) look bad will have some serious ramifications come 2014 election time...

I can see the ads now...
"Vote for me so I can keep my government position, despite the fact that I chose to shut down the government to hurt you..."

The Senate handed Boehner a way out, but he refused trying to appease the nuts on the right. He may hang on as speaker, but he has been neutered beyond recognition. He will remembered as the most inept and ineffectual speaker in history. Remember that box canyon everyone was talking about? Check mate! Too funny.

People should be able to opt out of either government mandated insurance or with paying the penalty. It's just like most of the states where you have to show financial responsibility to register your car if you do not have auto insurance. The people opting out should either sign a "Living Will" that "no care should be provided to them until someone can deposit money for care"; or have a bond to cover the expenses; or deposit $1000 with fire department for ambulance, deposit money for few hours of emergency care with the hospital, etc... You get the point. The "Living Will" should also state that they or anyone on their behalf will not be allowed to if any care is not given due to lack of funds. Since they make this decision why should the tax payers be responsible for their care if they are not able to pay for the care.
