Shutdown snark: #govtshutdownpickuplines

(CNN) – Shut down? Don't worry, Twitter has some pick up lines.

That's right. It's time for the return of #govtshutdownpickuplines.

When Congress faced a near shutdown in 2011, Twitter exploded with what it does best: Making fun of some of the most serious situations.

And, well, now it's happening again.

Enjoy.

I cannot post one of my #govtshutdownpickuplines because none of them are "G" rated. Those don't work.

This is so not funny. The shut down will slowly erode any progress made in the economy. People will start to lose jobs and it is the House's fault. The TP Republicans have been wanting to shut the Government down since they got into office. So as the economy goes south you only have the Republicans to blame. This is the Republicans economy that is about to happen.

I agree Morrie, I don't see a damn thing funny. The GOP/baggers have been in permanent tantrum mode for the past 5 years. They have been planning this shutdown since Willard lost 11 months ago.

After seeing some of the posts on here about how this is Obama's fault, or the Dems fault, but no way in heII the republicants fault... I am beginning to see how some of these tea baggers got elected. Obviously we have a percentage of Americans who think FAUX News is actually reporting (gulp) real news.
Ted Cruz fakes a fillibuster for 21 hours and then votes yay on the bill (perhaps it should be changed to voting yay-hoo)

The GOP – now morphed into the Grand Opposition Party are radical extremeists by any standard. These rouge representatives have proven they will stop at nothing to get their own way. The damages incurred upon the government and the american populace at large begs a class action suit for damages incurred. Their mentality is so
dangerous it would not be surpising if they resorted to marching in with AK 47's. Impeach the rogues.

  7. LOL

These people are laughing because it the shutdown hasn't directly effected them yet. They have a wakeup call coming very soon.

I watched the GOP after the shutdown and their little meeting, all walking down the halls of congress, giving their high five signs, etc – like a bunch of high school kids who just toilet papered all the opposing teams houses! We really need some grown men with an honorable, ethical and decent character in both houses of congress.

The good news is that all of the furloughed government workers probably qualify for totally free, government paid for Obamacare, free food stamps and probably many other government freebies. Let no crisis go unused to bilk the government/taxpayers and line your pockets.

Someday – the fools who voted for the fools in power will stop blaming the Reps and tea party...someday.

It is funny to Congress. Why shouldn't it be funny to those of us who can afford Internet access?

Yeah, cuz this is super funny to those 800,000 furloughed workers and their families...not to mention the small businesses that will see revenue drops as a result of the GOP/Teatrolls essentially adding 800,000 to the unemployment list.
