Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

Only good guys with guns can stop bad guys with gun; unless the good guys with guns are furloughed due to the shutdown that the GOP has been running for office on for 5 years now. In that case, you're screuued.

I suspect the shooter is a member of congress, another republican just opened his mouth and shot his foot off.

Another example where established Gun Control laws do absolutely nothing. D.C. is supposed to be a "gun-free" zone. How are the good people supposed to defend themselves when criminals don't obey the law?

Who can we believe anymore in WASH-DC as to what is or is not a fabrication??? Perfect timing to assist political agendas...but we hope that WASH-DC remains the only focus of any violence as the place has earned the scorn of millions arond the world and here at home now...WASH-DC has alot to correct to ever have the respect of the People again as was just a decade ago.

You know what amazes me? All of a sudden we have mass media coverage of shootings almost on a weekly basis now. We also see all of this media during a time when the government is working so hard to ban guns. Could it be possible that the governement is behind the shootings as a ploy to push the gun control issue even further?

When you play with ppl money, you cannot expect them to react the way they do. I hope no one is injured during this event. Maybe Congress will actually do something to fix the government being shut down. #WakeUpCongress
