Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

I'm there and I saw John Boehner running away flailing his arms, running like a little girl, and crying(of course) like a child.

Who will be surprised if the person is a "non-essential" government employee?

Behold the upside down five pointed star of the NRA agenda... racism, ignorance, profit, privilege, fascism. Suspended above it witness the writhing of the snake... Ladies and gentlemen hear the hissing of the serpent from their lips... lies, death, evil, world domination, fascism PAINTED ON THEIR FOREHEADS FOREVER

I actually asked my wife this morning " So how long do you think it will take for someone that is on the edge, and has had enough, to start taking out the politicians?"

Does this really surprise anyone? both parties are being spoiled stubborn children and need a good reality check.

Hopefully no one but politicians get hurt. Don't like saying that, but that is how I feel after the soap opera that we have seen.

I think the shutdown shows just how over staffed the federal government is. We can cut several jobs and virtualy have no affect on day to day operations...Give the power and responsibility back to the states and move on. I'm tired of this dictatorship takeover the Democraps are trying to pull. You are detsroying AMERICA you DEMOCRAP LIBERALS!!!

See what could happen when people are forced to not work so that that they can provide for their family. Get government back to work before more shootings happen. Republicans, let our people go!

    No facts...

But I'm sure that the shooter was a white male with an AR-15 who played video games. How do I know this? Because I'm on CNN!

Not quite the reaction I would have hoped for, though any assumption at this point for why there was a shooting can amount to conjecture. but to Ted Cruz and the Republicans who by my estimation have created a situation where peaceful revolution was made impossible they had to know that such a violent reaction would follow.

but as ignorance is the root and stem of most every evil, the shooter represents the worst in our society and the most ignorant among us. any time you try to take someones life you are at the height of evil deeds.

this is a developing opinion, I hope all at the hill as human beings are safe and an Injury is the worst of it.

Good!! While they are on lockdown come up with a plan already and stop beating around the bush!!

Lockdown lifted, there was a car chase that ended with shots fired between officers and the suspect, after the suspect in question tried to ram a security barrier on Pennsylvania Ave before driving to the Capitol building.

Move on, nothing to see here relating to some mass shooter who snapped because of the government shutdown, just a normal crime day in DC.

GUNS AREN'T DANGEROUS...THE IDIOT CRIMINALS AND MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE THAT GET GUNS ILLEGALLY ARE DANGEROUS!
Lets take guns away from law abiding citizens so only criminals and sick people have them. This makes so much
    sense.

JV Welcome to your BO nation. People mass killing every month since 2008...
Sorry JV there has been mass killings long before 2008. Moving along. It's surprising more people haven't resorted to this sort of violence. These people making the decisions have a back up to live off of while other normal people are struggling to live from month to month.

As usual, empathy abound for people who do stupid rash things when the are shots fired at people that they don't agree with.

I thought gun laws were strict in D.C. Oh wait that's right, areas with the strictest gun laws also have the highest homicide rates. Anyway, I think the only disappointment here is that nobody in Congress was shot.
