Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

I can't imagine why people are starting to get angry. Gun Control is not the answer. The answer is for congress and other politicians to start to care about us more than they do them. And in order for that to happen, people need to VOTE these people out – violence is not the answer either.

it seems it was another crime taking place and spilled over onto the capital area. nothing to do with the government and they are not under the shelter in place order anymore.

    Sorry to burst everyone's bubble.

The American Government is becoming unstable financially and socially. This incident is just a straw in the wind.

The only thing shocking about this is the fact that it has not happened sooner. Will this be a wake up call to the House and Senate? Probably not.

Sad, that with the help of Congress, people feel that they need to solve their problems with a gun. As for all those who support the GOP because they are "saving your money". Look twice and I think you will see a different story. This shutdown is not cheap....But hey, it's your tax dollars and mine going down the tube thanks to the GOP idiots.

Lockdown lifted, there was a car chase that ended with shots fired between officers and the suspect, after the suspect in question tried to ram a security barrier on Pennsylvania Ave before driving to the Capitol building.

Just a normal crime day in DC.

Must have been some sort of long-range secret weapon type of assault weapon, since it had to be fired from Virginia. Everyone knows that D.C. is not only murder central, but also a gun-free zone. Way ta' go libs!

It seems as if though people are being pushed to the edge of survival today . The break down of life as we know it may not be far behind . The human is but a mammal on the planet earth and even Rome fell . How much more can those that are simply trying to survive on a working class salary take ? We are living on the edge of repeating history .

And queue the parade of idiots making this a partisan thing... Jesus people, if you can't deal rationally with those who hold different beliefs than yours, how on earth do you expect congress to???

Another Democrat distraction to avoid meeting with the Republicans. Who hired this shooter?

    ___________

Wow, really? You're one of the most pathetic individuals that had the misfortune to be born.

Your level of divisiveness is EXACTLY what is causing this problem.

Pity the shot wasn't aimed at you. The world would be a better place.

How can it be? DC is a gun-free zone. let me guess....it's an AR-15 snub-nosed shotgun revolver that did the shooting.
