Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

Another gun fancier with time on their hands. Why can't these people pick up a useful hobby, like stamp collecting or model railroading?

What was that stupid question from Dana Bash to somehow blame Democrats for the shutdown? That's gross!

As much as this whole thing is vexing to all, blaming Dems for this is not correct and Dana playing devil's advocate was embarrassing to say the least.

lextacy03: Children are more empathetic and less selfish–they tend to share their lunch rather than let a classmate go hungry, and when a friend falls down, they actually try to provide healthcare. So let's watch that comparison of Congressional selfishness to "acting like children."
Can we be sure this situation is not just Ted Cruz's next "negotiating" tactic?

How can this happen? DC has the strictest gun laws in the nation. If those laws really worked, this kind of thing would not be possible. You anti-gun people are idiots.

America is in a bad, bad place, and with each new law passed by the Obama administration, it gets worse.

I don't advocate shooting Members of Congress; but it would be highly beneficial for them to wake up every morning and contemplate this possibility.

Here' s my take: it's a terrible mistake by cops on edge in the current climate, combined with a motorist who tried to go through barriers on Pennsylvania Avenue. The confusion may be that the man shot (after he exited his vehicle near the Capitol) was actually a security guard. He seems to have had a child as a passenger (a young black girl was taken by a policewoman) and the one injured person who was taken by helicopter appears to be black. I believe there was no actual attempt to breach the White House itself, only the security barriers blocking Pennsylvania Avenue near Lafayette Square.

My take at the moment: A deadly mistake by scared police.

Anarchy and Civil War are coming....May be a few years from now but there is no doubt it is going to happen. History, along with the state of this country, make it so very obvious.

Are you people that are talking about guns being the problem stupid or just ignorant??? I would imagine it would be a much bigger disaster if there was a bomb, don't you think?? People that do this kind of thing don't do it just for fun...do you really think they would be stopped if they didn't have a gun? You can download instructions on how to build a bomb from the internet. Should we outlaw the internet too???

It is a mistake for people to complain about the Congress not doing their job. They are. It's just that their obligation is with the the ones who financially put them there. They are bought and paid for and hence doing what they were paid to do. It just so happens that doesn't include you.

Take our country back from whom exactly?? The POTUS is doing the job he was elected to do. The GOP can't handle losing so they have been acting like 3 year olds for the past 5 years.
