Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

Guns aren't dangerous! Didn't Congress refuse to consider stricter gun control legislation? Why are they running?

GUN CONTROL. Another common sense thing supported by 90% of the American public that the GOP blocked.

Here we go again. It doesn't matter what party or laws you support, enough is enough. WE as Americans need to take our Country back. From the President all the way down to the Aids. This country needs a fresh start. Still proud to be an American , just sad that we act like children.

Why don't our children get GoKits and protective hoods? After all, THEY at least go to school and do their jobs everyday. Why do these elite politicians get such treatment while our teachers have to sit in their classrooms and get shot?

If the government is shut down what is anyone doing in the Capitol? The shooter is probably frustrated in trying to sign up for the Healthcare Exchange online.

I really was wondering when something like this would happen. I do hope for the safety of everyone but I really question the sanity of the GOP house, in their closing of the government in a time where the U.S. citizenry does not have the best track record for spree killings and gun control and psychological insanity seems to be major issues, more than the ACA. It's as if we are living in another world from our representatives. Don't they understand how the citizens are hurting from the wars and the economic recovery to the point of this being possibly the last straw.
