Washington (CNN) - Democrats and Republicans held their ground on Thursday, the third day of the federal government shutdown, refusing to budge from their positions about who is to blame for the crisis and how to resolve it.
Leaders from the two parties offered rhetoric similar to what they've been saying for days, providing little hope for a breakthrough tied to Congress' inability to agree on a spending plan for President Barack Obama to sign.
For as long republicans tie the shutdown by defunding obamacare this will never be resolved. Boehner is so scared of the tea party that he refuses to compromise.
Boehner needs to be booted out together with the tea party!
amazing progress Speed it up a notch!
" House Republicans would continue passing piecemeal funding measures for popular programs "
Picking and choosing WINNERS and loosers, are ya, repubs??
How bout NASA and their Mars trip?
Every day lost in prep means less chance of success.
Miss the opening and it is off FOR 2 YEARS, and then Mars/Sun relation is totally off for the mission.
But that's science; don't matter to the repubs.
Maybe NASA should put a Bible on board, get the repub approval then.
Just this week Priebus referenced the re-imaging of the GOP as per their recent "autopsy".
Only the GOP could reference its "autopsy" and fire another round into their head with this government shutdown.
I guess we just have to wait until gravity takes over and finishes them off.
Ted Cruz , please read me Lord of the Fly's from the Senate floor , please.
I wish the media would stop with the false equivalency and quit the "....both parties are at fault" Yeah right....It has never happened in the history of our country were a president was held to repeal a law or the opposition party would shutdown the government...really?....just so people can't have healthcare?....really? That's what we are fighting about...the MSM say both parties are fault. If so, where the heck is gun legislation, a jobs bill, immigration reform and the bill to impeach every tea party member for treason? ...where's all that in this discussion? Oh that's right, the Dems are sane.
