Small business owners already hit by shutdown

(CNNMoney) - The government shutdown has already caused some small businesses to lose work and money, according to a new CNNMoney/Thumbtack.com survey.

Of the 100 business owners who responded, 46% said their firms were feeling the impact of the shutdown, including cancellation of ongoing work and less new work coming in.

JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!!! Isn't that what the GOP traitors said they would focus on? Instead, they rape the poor and middle class, disrespect the President and lick the boots of BILLIONAIRES!

Mission Accomplished, eh Teatrolls? can't let that economy grow while there's a *cough* in the WH, right?

How can that be? According to the republicans who seem to be giddy about the shutdown, no billionaire has been affected or has noticed.

the so called party of business is now engaging in selfish, childish antics that are costing american taxpayers 300 million dollars a day. small businesses are now laying off people and not hiring due to the GOP led govt. shutdown. I have seen republican leaders making statements with regards to how happy they are now that the govt. is shutdown. the GOP is a scourge on the american people. the party is full of radical extremists who are hell bent on destroying this country. God save us from these nut cases.

"Don't rationalize away that "this is too important! this is about a government shutdown!""

That's not a rationalization. The magnitude of the consequences of using procedural gamesmanship to block legislation is a relevant factor in determining whether it is justified.

However, I'm glad we can agree on how silly the congressional paycheck puppet show is...what a farce.

Amazing. Several people just scratched their heads, and realized when people are out of work, buying slows down. Now who would've thought. IDIOTS.

The government shutdown has already caused some small businesses to lose work and money, Yet ,

Paul argued to McConnell that Republicans should keep stressing that they are willing to compromise, unlike Democrats. “We're going to win ...

A memo from House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.)
    We are winning..

Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) told Glenn Beck during a radio interview Thursday that conservatives are "winning" the battle in Washington .

    Are you sure ?
The party of small business might be out of touch .

And we're supposed to be impressed by the millionaire congress who is donating, not accepting, etc their
    paychecks?
Honestly, the most frustrating thing about this is, what can we do about it? We have to pay our taxes,
we can only vote for who is running in each State, if we e-mail them, they don't respond (unless you tell
them what a great job they are doing) which I don't. They have been gerrymandered into security, and
they love to remind us that "they hold the purse strings".
    Anybody got an idea?

Here's a simple question for all you redumblicans. Would there be a shutdown right now if the house didn't add an amendment to the spending bill that repealed or delayed the ACA? Yes or No? If you answer yes, please explain.

And here I thought the shutdown was only affecting useless government leeches.

We'll duh! I've been saying even before the teatard terrorist shutdown that it was not just the Feds who would get hurt. Anyone or any business connected with and around government offices around the country will hurt because there will no business .
I don't feel a bit thankful to any teatard who is "giving" their paycheck away. Most of them are millionaires.

In my home town, we had people who took turns being the town drunk. We called them republicans. I wonder if any of them knew Boehner.

A faction of congress is willing to crash the economy to keep Americans from being able to buy affordable healthcare insurance. This time around there will be no taxpayer bailouts.

John....Speaker Boehner.. who is SO DEEP into your pockets, you won't even bring a clean CR to the floor for your OWN party to vote on?

What is so important you are holding this vote up from your OWN party, in lieu of pandering to less than 40 extremists from 'loud' districts?

    Inquiring minds want to know..

Stop the Green Eggs and Ham games, and bring a CR to the floor champ. The American people DON'T deserve this. Your party has put them through enough already. For the sake of your very soul it's self, stop the damn games..

Sincerely, another very angry American voter with a memory as long as an elephant (every pun intended)

I like what Israel does in this situation and I think we should consider a similar law... if the Legislators do not do their job and pass a budget on time, then last years budget+1% goes into place. If 30 days pass and still no budget... everyone goes back up for election.
What an excellent law... no more pulling this nonsense several months out from an election knowing the electorate will not remember. Can you imagine?

Last year during the election, between President Obama & Romney, I kept having this feeling that what the GOTP was saying was this: Let's take America back... to 1913 when there were only the Ruling class & the working class! I see they are Still trying their godawful best to do that! This shutdown over ACA is a smoke screen! They could have chosen any issue; immigration, gay rights, contraceptives (lol) & we'd still be in this melt down right now! It all started w/Citizens United & they wont stop until We, the people, all become what they call "non-essential"! There seems to be some serious Ayn Rand & "New World Order" fans among that Tea Party set! And apparently they're scaring the bejeezus out of the actual GOP! Cause I can't for the life of me understand why else so many of them mean 'yes' but vote 'no'! Or why Boehner keeps crying! We gotta help'em out y'all & vote like your life depends on it, next year, because it does! Make the Tea Party stand on it's own, w/out being propped up by the GOP!!

I have become a little disappointed with the powers at CNN not liking what I write. However, I have nothing but respect for you and the others fighting the good fight. recently, Cruz and the RWNJ idiots have brought me out of retirement.
