Timeline to a government shutdown

Washington (CNN) – The government shutdown has been in place less than a week, though it certainly feels longer than that to many Americans.

That may be because the drama in Congress leading up to the actual shutdown was so drawn out and convoluted.

Dear god, do something about the accompanying vid-cap to this article.

Meanwhile, without analysis, I'm not sure what this article accomplishes. Well, it might clear up misconceptions for certain conservatives, but are they going to click "Full Story" anyway? Doubtful.

"That may be because the drama in Congress leading up to the actual shutdown was so drawn out and convoluted."

And that IS because the MSM deliberately avoids clarifying anything via detailed, fact-based explanations in order to keep the story muddled enough and the viewers/readers befuddled enough that they can weave a false equivalency narrative that proves their "unbiased reporting" and allows the nontroversy to be perpetuated.

This nonsense of shutting down the gov. must end immediately. These people who were elected by people to present them, should not go against the people. It sounds very awful that they have stopped work of the people who gave them work (congress), how can they still cash in their checks and let others suffer? Is this really fair?

Ah, that's better - a vid-cap featuring who's actually responsible for this shutdown: John Boehner.

The shutdown is all political theater, which means nothing.

CNN, will you please get rid of this lady Dana Bash? She has no clue at all what she is doing. What was the use of her attacking Harry Reid? Why can't she go and work with Fox News? She should know where she belongs, if she doesn't , she belongs nowhere.

An early Pew Poll showed that Americans blamed Republicans over Democrats for shutting down the government by a margin of only 39% to 36%. Why would our media ignore that poll? We know our media blamed Republicans from the start. Did that poll not match up with the narrative of blaming Republicans that our media wanted to do? Of, course.

First of all, it's more like 49% , not 39. Second- 2010, the GOP campaigned on a shutdown, and they delivered this week. Premeditation my friend makes all the difference. The GOP is getting blamed for the shutdown because they shutdown the government!

Interesting that in spite of the regimes attempt to destroy the savings and 401ks of hard working Americans by trying to talk dow the markets during the corrup presidents campaign speech yesterday they are up again today. Just goes to show the dope addict and welfare frauds choice for president has no credibility. Also interesting that the corrupt president shuts down open spaces and things that aren't even owned or operated by the government to try to make people hate the Republicans. He must think all Americans are as stupid as those who voted for him.

hold out baynor, hold out.....I hope Obama & Reid calls your bluff – go for another 2 or 3 more weeks, there bonehead.
To be perfectly honest – I think they are wanting this to be like the fall of 2008 – stocks are at an all time low – nobody hiring – everybody on part time work – everybody losing jobs – Just like it was in the fall of 08, back when "dubya" & his Veep, & his treasury sec were wanting 787 bill, so they could leave with at least something they can split it all with.
    pitiful.....
The republicans are smart, they want to pin this debacle on Obama & company. and when this comes to the debacle that I just mentioned, they will think they have won, I guess. In reality, the people are the ones that will have lost, or suffer.
Yep, I hope the bonehead holds out – maybe he will secure a "win" for the next 25 years – with a Democrat in the W.H.
    (what a pathetic guy)
