Obama issues debt-ceiling warning

Washington (CNN) - End the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling - even for a short period - and I'll negotiate, President Barack Obama said Tuesday in providing a potential opening to end a political stalemate that has partially shut down the government and threatens a first-ever U.S. default next week.

"If there's a way to solve this, it has to include reopening the government and saying America's not going to default and we're going to pay our bills," he said in a White House news conference on the eighth day of the partial shutdown and nine days before the deadline to increase the federal borrowing limit or face default.

    @We the People

And here is a warning from the People Mr. Obama... SHOVE IT! We are not sitting back and taking anymore of your insanity. Enough is enough. The People of this country also have a red line and you sir are WAY OVER IT.

    -------

LOL....try winning a national election then come talk to us. You and the rest of the brain dead Tea Baggers want to keep your campaign promises to defund Obamacare. Well, you can't make that happen...duh...so go back and tell those that vote for you, all you can do is burn down this country's economy ... grow up ..and get over yourself. The majority of this country spoke last Nov. and re-elected Pres. Obama. Don't like it, redeem some of your frequent flyer mileage and move to Somalia. They have exactly the type of gov't you are looking for...No Gov't . Go lay down and take your meds now

    President Obama,
You will negotiate with the Republicans because the debt ceiling is on you.
    ---------------------–
Don't count on it. The right wing has made many big predictions in the past, ranging from a Romney landslide to Pres. Obama foldking on the government shutdown on Oct. 1. The right wing has gotten it all wrong, time and time again.

Yet, they shake it off as if none of it ever happened in the way that it actually came to pass, and then tell themselves that it was a messaging problem. Denials. Alternate realities. Opinions count more than actual facts. People are not listening to us because we are not trying hard enough. It's the MSM's fault. The Democrats cheated. They cheated us again. They're trying to cheat us again. Let's project our wicked deeds onto the Democrats. Let's send out a new talking points memo to everyone, so that everyone's message is on point. Let's rebrand ourselves. That'll fix it.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. ...Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

What are the Republicans offering at the negotiation table? Anyone? What have Republicans offered, or conceded?

Democrats conceded the Tea Party's spending levels in the first bill the Senate passed, which is the one that Boehner has refused to bring up for a vote for almost 10 days now. Democrats have not brought an ideological bucket list of non-negotiable demands to the table, which is what the Tea Party has done.

What are the Republicans offering at the negotiation table? Anyone? They've offered to fund the government is about it.

The repubs' idea of negotiate is to hold the US and World economies hostage and demand concessions.

Their 'Ace In the Hole' is that they have an excellent Propaganda Network backing them. Without the constant lies from the right, the repubs would be branded traitors for demanding their will over the lawmaking process our government is based on.

Yeppers. Fiduciary responsibility first, then negotiations.

I imagine calling my credit card company using rebel talking points. I tell the bedroom-voiced young lady on the line, "Okay look, 'Vanessa', here's the deal. I'm spending too much money these days. So I'm afraid I'm not going to pay my bill until I get my financial affairs in order. I also think you should reduce my APR, because it's, like, a lot."

Vanessa replies, "Mr. Driven, did you take the brown acid before this call?"

This president is overstepping his authority in so many areas, it's scary. It's also illegal – where is the special committee to bring this man before a Grand Jury. Bill Clinton's and Richard Nixon's misdeeds were brought before one – and there were impeachment hearings. Bring – it – on!
    ***************
Damn- the- consequences, eh? An impeachment is an inhernetly political process, and unless you have real proof of high crimes and misdemeanors ( wishful thinking and temper tantrums don't qualify, either), STFU. Even suggesting it because you lost 2 elections and are holding onto the House by virtue of gerrymandering , aka political bribery, is not an excuse to call for impeachment. Exactly how and where is he overstepping his authority? The GOP are the ones who always have clamored for a strong chief executive, so it solely because its not your chosen one in the WH that's driving this?

I notice President Obama is not calling for repeal of the "heinous" sequester cuts that were supposed to be the end of the world. With that in mind, the next step is to get Obama to give on another budget related issue ans/or Obamacare. The Democrats are winning the PR war up until this point, however, the debt ceiling is the nuclear option. If there is a default it is because Obama will have let it happen. He is ultimately responsible for it and the Republicans know that and they are going to squeeze him for everything they can.

And by the way, only a little more than half of the people in this country voted for Obama. We who did not vote for Obama are under no obligation to obey him, regardless of what he may think.

    Illegalsuck

Just another example of how Obama and the Dums put illegals before American citizens. When you pick illegals before WWII vets, something is drastically wrong with this country. How bout rounding up all those at this rally, checking their immigration status and deporting them. Sad that criminals can gather and make "demands:" and pols like Pelosi applaud them.
    -------–
Maybe if the Tea Party hadn't furloughed the INS agents, then maybe there would be someone available for the round up.
    --------–
Gotta throw the BS flag Rudy, even if there had been no furlough, the INS still would not have "round up" the protestors....though I think they should take advantage of the situation and everyone that is not legal at the protest, and deport them.

Sorry, but when did you get the choice of opting out? As you pointed out, more than half voted for him, and, your feeling aside, that does not give you the "right" to assist in destroying the country just because you can't win an election. Your post is one of the more disgusting sentiments I've seen in quite some time, and symptomatic of what is wrong with the Right in this country.

$$$$ – Last time a bunch of guys followed your logic... 'We who did not vote for Obama are under no obligation to obey him, regardless of what he may think'... there was this thing that happened between 1861-65, remember?
So why don't you try to actually secede? Oh, yeah, you can't... because you don't have THAT much support.
Even among those who voted for Romney.
