Washington (CNN) - The House Democratic caucus has been invited to a meeting at the White House Wednesday afternoon on the government shutdown and the upcoming debt limit deadline, according to a White House official.
The event will not be open to the press, and other caucuses will be invited in the coming days, the official said.
Last Wednesday, the top four Congressional leaders–House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell–met with President Barack Obama at the White House.
But the one-hour meeting resulted in no deal to end the government shutdown.
I'm assuming this will be a pep-talk for all concerned to stand firm against sedition.
I hope she gets to be our next speaker of the house again, at least she got things done, and worked well with people, unlike our current speaker of the house.
I remember when the speaker of the house once was a guy named Thomas Foley. During his reign as speaker of the house, everything ran smoothly, there wasn't any such thing as a gov't shutdown, and all the fights that you hear about today. As a matter of fact, Foley didn't have to do anything, except sit there, and when they passed laws & brought up various bills to be passed or not, there was no such thing as "in – fighting"
Too bad we can't have civility in our leaders of this great country. pitiful.
the republican party should be dis banned for unpatriotic nonsense. What a sorry lot they are
Now the criminal behavior, begins, in the WH.
