Stop winning it doesn't say much for the people we hire and pay with our tax dollars.

You will be getting back pay when you get back to work just enjoy a paid vacation at our expense. I really don't see how giving you back pay saves us any money anyway.

Go out and get a real job instead of living off our Government and really stop all the winning.

    Domestic terrorists, our politicians

Our government, left and right, is supposed to help its citizens overcome problems. It was never supposed to be the problem. Citizens are losing equity in their investments, others are out of work or on furlough, our veterans are being neglected. We spend so much on our military to protect us from foreign enemies and terrorists, but the irony is that we are being held hostage not by foreign enemies but by our politicians.

Hey genius. These people didn't ask to get laid off; your GOP Congress did it to them. By the way, try learning to spell. The word you want to use is "WHINING"!

The people working are not getting paid. All essential employees are in no pay status. Senate has still not voted on H.R.3223; which would ensure that the furloughed employees in this fiasco get paid. As an essential employee, who is essentially not getting pay, I ask our bosses to get it together and take care of the people that they employee.

ED1 – I believe that CNN wrote this article. Not a federal employee. And you generalize 2 million employees working VARIOUS jobs as not having a real job? Speaking as one...I have a real Masters, real non-government tax experience, and work a real job in the IRS. I didn't go out and write this article to complain. Other people sympathize with 2 million employees and chose to write this article. And using "winning" instead of "whining" not one but twice completely devalues your entitled opinion. You may pay taxes, but you elect others to decide where that money goes. They choose to interview and hire the qualified applicants. As one, I'm stuck in the crosshairs and get to hear people like you do nothing but complain. People complain when there is slow processing of checks, parks being closed, etc. We don't do our jobs to get praise from you. But we are hired to provide these services and are currently unable to do so. I don't want a "paid vacation"which is nothing but stress as the only income in my house, I want to be working to continue doing my job. .. with or without your support.

Government workers are called "hardworkers"! The more apt description, for most of them, is hadly working! They are arrogant and unhelpful. And they work for the government because with their background, attitude and ill manners, they'll never make it in the private sector. But who are they kidding? When the shut down is over they'll all be back on their cushy jobs playing solitaire on their computers. They'll get back pay too! Stop your stupid whining you frauds, and simply enjoy your paid vacations like the Obamas do, on the taxpayer's dime. Are there real hardworking government employees? Yes, the members of the U.S. armed forces!

This is GOP economics in action- we're seeing it live. And these clowns want a seat at the table to "negotiate" on America's fiscal problems?
No do they see why the GOP no longer has any credibility?

How many shell-shocked veterans do you think it will take being thrown into the street before one of them goes crazy with a bottle of whiskey and a gun–and starts treating all these manchild politicians to a bullet in the head?

My money's on the first hundred. Who wants to take the over or the under?

The majority of the Federal workers today, are simply doing political work, paid for by the taxpayers........to keep Obama in office.

The people have no idea, what they do.
