Obama has concerns with GOP proposal because it doesn't end shutdown

Washington (CNN) - An offer Friday by House Republicans to President Barack Obama would temporarily increase the debt ceiling without reopening the government right away, GOP sources told CNN's Deirdre Walsh.

The White House said in response that Obama "has some concerns" with the plan because it would not end the shutdown that was in its 11th day.

I have concerns because they haven't shared their great ideas!

Haha..."has some concerns"...that might be the euphemism of the day. Well, at least everyone seems to be trying to put a happy face on the GOP/Teatroll shutdown.

The President is right, at best the GOP just released one hostage, but still holds another in the economy still held hostage with their illegal shutdown still intact- and the increasing damage that is doing- to the hundreds of thousands of federal employees who aren't getting paid, and to all the businesses affected by the loss of federal business. Never mind the money wasted in the shutdown itself. The GOP is STILL trying to wreck the recovery.
So, what have we learned in the last 24 hours?
    1. The GOP is still trying its damndest to kill itself.
    2. The GOP is now the most unpopular party ever in America
    3. The GOP really doesn't care about the Debt or the Deficit
    4. We still have no clue why the GOP continues the shutdown, if what they now say- that is isn't about the ACA is true
    5. We apparently really don't have anyone to "negotiate" with as no one seems to be in charge at the GOP and they're all off campaigning with the Fundies anyway
    6. Two polls showing severe damage to the GOP haven't got their attention yet
    7. The GOP is spinning wild lies and obscuring reality with utterly crazy statements today- and that's bound to only get worse

Obamacare is more popular than congressional republicans. It is the republicans who have to be repealed, not Obamacare.

'has some concerns' = 'I've made my point quite clear and public about that particular issue, don't play dumb and don't offend the deaf people by pretending to be one.'

Since the current House GOP proposal doesn't re-open the government I guess President Obama has your permission to not compromise, then. I'm sure he appreciates your support.

If the GOP does not end the shut down , the President must hold his ground. The GOP sold thier souls to the Tea Party Devils. They created this monster to get votes. The Teatrolls voted in the nuts and this is what you get. Thanks John McCain for picking the dumbo called Sarah Palin. Now theTeae Party thinks that any old nut will do. Not one of those sorry souls have a clue about how government is ran, but they sure are enjoying the perks. Take away 800,000 thousand peoples pay checks, but they are keeping theirs. They have cut off their noses to spite their own faces. People wake up and make sure that you get out and vote come 2014 elections. They are hoping that we forget about their BS!!!!! I for one will not be rewarding them for acting so racist and childish because a black man was elected president that is for sure. Anyone with a conscience knows the real deal about the GOP/TP Klan.

Hey Rickster, only about 28% of people in this entire country are clueless enough to agree with you. So are you saying the other 75% aren't smart as a 5th grader? I would say you got that backwards. Well, I don't think the 4th grade mentality you are espousing will ever win a national election.. But I guess you guys haven't figured that out yet and at the current rate, "dog catcher" is about the best you Tea Baggers can hope for.

the tyranny of the majority is why we have these tools. when the dems had a super majority in the government they thought they could do whatever they wanted...the would say stupid things like...there was an election...there are consequences to elections...I won...that is not how to truely govern ALL America. like it or not...because of years of not negotiating in good faith and making legislation that did not have input from both sides...we find ourselves here.

Hey Rick , why won't the Speaker of the House put the clean spending bill on the floor for a vote ?

I think you and freedom are both great at posting demands , yet you both never have any new ideas or solutions .

LOL, nice "concern troll" move, Obama. At some point, I guess you gotta laugh.

Though if it was me, I'd be idly threatening in front of the cameras to gaol Boehner. It's time to recognize what this is: total war.

With the new polls showing the GOP may be doing irreversible damage to their already declining memberships, their main supporters sending them dire warnings to cease and desist with this nonsense, and now even the Koch brothers abandoning them (What? Who us? We never said said to tie Obamacare to the debt ceiling or the governmennt shutdown.) what will be their plan? If they agree to short term deal and then try to twist arms again, causing this same insane scenario right at the Holiday season, will they ever recover? It is obviously Joe Public is NOT buying into their lies abd projections of their own shortcomings onto Obama and the Dems. What is Plan B?
Stay tuned for the next episode of the Walking Dead.

So, the GOP is putting the shutdown and furlough on the government "credit card," and destroying the holiday shopping season for businesses. Have they figured out what stuff the want to demand yet?
