Obama is simply staging political theater. It is OBVIOUS he is doing this for political purposes, and to resist any attempt to force any compromise of any kind, on his outrageous spending.

My God, Obama, Boehner, McConnell, Reid and Pelosi in the same room and not a leader amongst them. If thsi were a TV show it wouldn't even make a credible sit-com.

I don't know what is more amazing, the fact that these are our "leaders" or that Boehner, McConnell, Reid and Pelosi will be re-elected. Thank God that at least Obama is through.

When the American electorate sends people like these to the White House and the Congress we are probably doomed.

His outrageous spending, Rick? Raising the debt ceiling is based on past spending... bills that are due.
Congress (say it with me now... c-o-n-g-r-e-s-s) is in charge of the 'purse strings' (listen to your masters on fox, they will at least admit this). It is NOT President Obama who decides how much we spend.
You really should consider some remedial civics and history courses, Rick. Either that or some serious kickin' medications.

And Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin speaking to TeaPart Vetrans was not theater ?

Where were you Rick when GW Bush maxed out America's credit card , where were you when Dick Cheney said Deficits Don't Matter ?

Before you tell us the future , maybe you should remember the past !

@Rick McDaniel, Compromise on what? Obama and senate say we don't want anything from anyone, just raise the debt limit (congress's debt) and fund the govt. If someone was going to provide a service to someone for free, and another guy would perform the same service but for $100, which guy would you choose? Would you first ask them to negotiate and come up with a compromise? OH WAIT! Don't answer that...you're Rick McDaniel...you'd choose the bad deal! Anyone else care to answer?

You are just one big talking point. There isn't one post where you don't spew them. It's so cute and funny. By the way, how can repubs (which I'm not, I'm a libertarian) have talking points when, according to you, the repubs don't agree on anything and are fractured? Seems to me that would be difficult to do....

What Obama is telling Senate Republicans is the Budget Control Act of 2011 (the Sequester), which is the law, must be rewritten to fund Obamacare, which is also the law.

So as it turns out, House (Tea Party) Republicans were doing exactly what the founders and framers of the US Const. expected them to do when faced with a lawless, yet powerful, President...stand and fight.

While I realize that every time there is a significant change in America (i.e., Women's rights, Civil rights, the integration of ANYTHING, etc.) we have to deal with the hatred and bigotry that is a part of the landscape of this country, I'd just like to say. I am so tired. Correction, WE, are so tired. Just get to work, do your jobs, get the government moving again, increase the debt ceiling and stop playing games... WE have had enough...

If any person in the country is not offended at the way the republicans conducted themselves in this man made mess, you need to do some soul searching. You yourself have priorities that need attention, and you more than likely believe it's funny that we as a nation look to be as dumb as stumps. Well we're not, and you are nothing more than instigators, and agitators. The extreme right, is no more correct in their thinking, than the extreme left. We need good middle ground leadership, not the nut cases from the fringes of either side.

tom l, please. All you've been for the last several weeks is a stalking horse for the Right. Your "critiques" of the Right have been so mild as to be meaningless. If you had made the decision to throw your lot in with the people who decided months ago they were going to force this country into a default, at least be honest about it.

Simple Fact. Obama should have been meeting with the congress many months ago. But, as you all know, You do know, don't you?, he has been on a constant campaign. He ran for president but doesn't want to do the job. Surly that is all too clear. And to be sure, getting a Health Policy is possible in the private sector. The Government should have little to do with it. The Liberal's are big on Education. Too bad more people are of the Know Nothing and Proud of it type. If Obama Care doesn't go, better get used to a lot more slack time.
