Senate reaches deal; Cruz won't block it

(CNN) – Senate leaders announced Wednesday they have reached a deal to end the government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said he will not block a vote on the Senate deal to raise the national debt limit and temporarily end the partial government shutdown, even though he opposes the agreement because it does not address GOP objections to Obamacare.

This headline speaks for itself: Senate reaches deal ... Cruz won't block.

Thus ends the anti-Obama, anti-Obamacare saga of fundraisers and billion dollar donor talking points filled with hate, dissention, and anger.

    Next headline, CNN?

Here, let me help. "Cruz saves the day".

Still no deal, this is a strategic move to spare Cruz so as to run him in 2016

The argument being made by the Cruz-aders is the following. "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is negotiable." The GOTP has to at least bring a carrot to the negotiating table if they want to look at least partially credible. So far, the only carrot that the Cruz-aders have offered has been to re-open government, which they won't do.... and to not crash into the debt ceiling, which they will do.

Of course he won't block it. He got what he wanted out of the entire debacle and the MSM already: inflating his importance and name recognition.

Next up, he'll be claiming that it's only because of him that the deal was passed....and CNN will be helping him broadcast the talking point.

Should we be jumping for joy that reasonable people sat down and did their job? Yeah. Should it have taken this long to happen? Hell no!! No one is off the hook! Heads will roll next November.

Nah...Heritage has already pivoted to "repeal it in 2017" and is fundraising off that.

First round of taking hostages seems to be over. Will Cruz continue to do it more than 40 times as they did for repealing ACA?

I hope you're right! This non-stop Tea Party tantrum nonsense has gone on long enough already! We've all got better things to worry about.

Finaly! I can watch something else now. Still don't want to pay for insurance I don't need or pay a fine cause I can afford a checkup to my family doctor every once and a while, but at least people who are sick can still be covered. Maybe it will help lower debt in the future because bills get paid. Trying to find the bright side folks!

Ted Cruz should block the hell out of this.
If he were EVER truly sold on "his" anti-Obamacare, anti-government crusade he should be spitting nails and reading the entire works of Dr. Seuss.
But wait, we can't have this be more than a footnote in history to be brought up and (hopefully Turd thinks) quickly dismissed as the folly of a passionate, freshman senator.
And we certainly cannot have him be the cog that make us default on our financial obligations. Not if he is to have any chance at the Rethuglikkklan nomination in 2016.
Yes, I guess it is best if Turd Cruz finally sat down, shut up, and stood still.

Ted Cruz is the only one who started this important dialogue – and it will continue. This is a one-sided partisan "deal" and still does not reflect a large portion of American citizens' concerns – nor resolve our debt issues. The worst is still ahead, before it's going to get any better – with Reid, Pelosi, and Obama at the helm.

I just listened to the Canadian real lunatic saying he never had any intention of delaying the vote. Nothing to be gained with delaying one or two days, Somebody must have had a come to Jesus moment with him.
The Washington establishment refuse to listen to the American people. Millions are hurting with Obamacare, really?
This rat's behind almost bankrupted millions, shut down the government as he promised to do with his other teatard cretins thousands without pay and millions, who depend on the Feds having a job, with no way to support themselves and the media still cares about what he says???
Enough of this guy. Send him back to Canada or Cuba. The only difference between a psychopathic liar and the Canadian is . . . No difference. He actually thinks that we are going to listen and believe anything he says,
Some people are really born evil and he is the perfect example that nothing can change the evil brain side.

Before or after DeMint takes his millions and runs in the same manner Armey took his millions and ran out on whatever PAC he milked for that 8 million dollar paycheck he collected?

@Dominican mama, I am at work also but could listen to a little bit that MSNBC has on their website. It's about a minute of stupid.
His voice is beginning to sound as irritating as the screecher from AK. My hole is that he will disappear from our lives much sooner than her.

It would be nice if both houses gives this an up or down vote. Cruz and others don't seem to really understand what is going on or want their way so badly that there can't be any way but theirs. That isn't what the US is about. The evidence is by the fact that we have two houses of Congress.

No. Cruz didn't "start" anything. Remember "repeal and replace"? That was before Cruz ever showed up in the Senate. He can't even take credit for first coming up with the idea of holding the nation hostage at bill-paying time - this has been openly discussed in conservative/ rebel circles for years. He was the most obnoxious about it, though, with his disgraceful Green Eggs and Ham "filibuster" a few weeks back.

A "larger portion" of Americans voted for Obama and the Democrats in 2012. When the Republicans win majorities in Congress and take the White House, then they can set the legislative priorities, and not until then.

Did I miss something? I thought mitch and Harry and the whole gang worked on this all night and hammered it out together. How can it be a 'one-sided partisan "deal" '? And what 'large portion' of American citizen's concerns were not reflected? ted, sarah, and their 300 rebel flag waving entourage?
Really? I pegged you wrong freedom, I thought you were trying to be funny with your comments but I was way off. You truly believe the psycho babble.
