Boehner urges House GOP to support Senate deal

Washinton (CNN) - Senate leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default, and House Speaker John Boehner urged fellow Republicans to support it while a key GOP conservative said he wouldn't try to block it in the Senate.

"We fought the good fight; we just didn't win," Boehner told a radio station in his home state of Ohio in reference to GOP efforts to dismantle or defund President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms and extract deficit reduction concessions around the need to fund the government and raise the federal borrowing limit.

    "Boehner: I'll allow it."

You'll 'allow' our economy and our entire way of life to finally return to some semblance of normalcy?

That's mighty noble of you, you pompous windbag.

This is such a load of crap. I hope they will be spending Christmas with the President, and that they will not be allowed to recess until they enact a permanent not temporary measure. What a bunch screw-offs!

Why won't BOEHNER just leave office? It's very apparent he is not wanted there and he is just ruining it for everyone else.

No, you did NOT fight the good fight. You threw a giant baby tantrum and cost everybody a ton of money. There, fixed that for you.

Let ObamaCare die a natural death. It won't take long...... That was the real mistake the Republicans made........ Their argument is very valid however and their concerns very realistic. They went about it the wrong way and in doing so hurt a lot of people.

It is a shame and disgusting, an embarrassment for this country that it took something like this to get the two sides working together to do something to bring down fiscal waste, if in fact they do what they are not promising to do by setting up this new debt committee. They should have been working on this long, long before now.

How many of you out there are tired of seeing so much of our tax dollars going abroad to countries that hate us anyway?

I would not. I'm listening the MSNBC's Ed Schults and I am in shock on how much the liberals hate us and call us every disgusting name they can think of. FU. Do not vote this in or we the Tea Party will vote you out. Come Feb expect us back to shut down the liberal mob. They blame everything on us yet forget who it was that brought our banks and financial systems down. It was the liberals from Israel who destroyed everything.

McConnell and Boehner cave again! It is well past time to oust these two RINO losers, and replace them with true conservatives. Absolutely no backbone. They are killing the GOP.

  16. We are a mess!

Just reading these comments below...we are a divided broken society. Both sides sticking to talking points and being nasty. Made worse by news orgs (all of them) writing in a way to inflame either side (CNN suggesting Boehner stated "I'll Allow It" in its headlines...can't find him actually saying it that way anywhere....may be wrong.....but most people would take that to mean that is what he said). So we increasingly become divided/polarized...our Congress reflects WE the People and acts the same way...we complain about Congress, yet we are no better. We get what we deserve....we get what we are. I only wish people would put down their smartphones, get out from behind their computers, and actually talk to people the old fashioned way. We have lost the ability to communicate. We have lost the ability to empathize. We are increasingly becoming more and more uncivil. Look at our kids with the cyber bullying...its only getting worse.

Thank you, Mr. B, for letting us, all 300+ million Americans, off your hook!

Mr B. is not the problem, he is only a symptom. The problem is that our 'democratic system' allows a single person to take the entire Nation hostage! This is dictatorship! We must curtail the Speaker's authority to refuse bringing bills to the House floor if s/he does not like them!

"I'll allow it"......what an amazing idiot with such inflated sense of self worth and ego. There's nothing in the house that even resembles serving for the people, it's become serving for the individual enhancement and an incredulous display of grand-puppetry, really embarrassing and sickening to be an American!

Republicans believe that creating a crisis that hurts Americans is an effective way to govern. I sincerely hope they learn in 2014 that ANY tactic that hurts Americans is a TERRIBLE way to govern. Honestly, holding the country hostage because you don't like ACA?

Even worse: threatening to default on our obligations (known in personal and business cases as bankruptcy) because you are worried about borrowing? The ONLY REASON to worry about borrowing is that it can hurt the country's financial reputation! It makes no sense at all to guarantee that damage in order to avoid POTENTIAL damage - that is like pushing your kid into busy traffic - because you are worried they might get hit as they walk to school on a busy road.

And yet we still have idiots in this country known as republicans and tea partiers that believe Boehner and the right wing are just good ol boys!

this was a unnecessary manufactured situation created by the Tea Party and the republicans who feared them! I for one WISH tea partier would get in my face and I'd let them have it!

NO MORE REPUBLICANS IN OFFICE EVER! unless they act like decent reasonable human beings. And don't get it twisted, just because i don't want them in office doesn't make me unreasonable...i'm just tired of all the nonsense brought on by the right and the tea party!

All of these could of been avoided 6 months ago if GOP let budget bill go to floor for a vote instead of trying to repeal ObamaCare 40+ times... thanks for nothing... drag our economy down for 6+ months... and telling what a bad job Obama is doing... when it's GOP representatives not doing their job... i would of stopped at 3 failed attempts... but 40+?

OK, Liberals and Progressives. You got your way. But we are not going to let you continue your idea of having a old Russian styled, fossil for a government. Look at what a mess ypur president has made of the DOJ – basically a Nazi group enforcing only Obama laws. Look at the IRS and its poster child, Lois Lerner – a huge inefficient and manipulative beaurocracy. hen there HSS Sebeliue – as auncaring and cold administrator as you could find anywhere. And the list goes on – State Dept. and Bengahzi, coverups, etc. You want us to accept this kind on of Kremlin like govt? No way. We go down fighting on this forever.
