Boehner urges House GOP to support Senate deal

Washinton (CNN) - Senate leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to end the partial government shutdown and avoid a possible U.S. default, and House Speaker John Boehner urged fellow Republicans to support it while a key GOP conservative said he wouldn't try to block it in the Senate.

"We fought the good fight; we just didn't win," Boehner told a radio station in his home state of Ohio in reference to GOP efforts to dismantle or defund President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms and extract deficit reduction concessions around the need to fund the government and raise the federal borrowing limit.

Mr. Speaker, you did NOT fight the good fight. The white part of chicken scheit is still chicken scheit. You and your colleagues attempted to change a law (ACA) by holding the American people hostage to your strictest ideology, igniting market instability, and shrinking the economic influence of the United States. Rather than effectively oppose Obama Care to prevent its passage in the first place, or attempt to reduce its impact on its own lack of merits, you consciously chose a very dirty and harmful path. I only have one voice; one vote. On November 4th of next year, my voice will say to my previously supported Republican representative, "Your fired".

As far as I'm concerned, it's too late for me to ever trust the GOP again! They're going to have to pass some stability test. No more Palins, Cruz, Lee, Allen West and the likes! We don't need, and cannot be safe as a country, with the American Taliban types!

If their salaries had been tied to the govt shutdown I bet you this shutdown would have never happened.

Watch the Piers Morgan debate with a gun rights advocate. These are the types of people who flock to the conservative party. It's scary. Boehner has no idea how much this has cost taxpayers and businesses. For what? What has been lost in revenue is astounding.

Congress has been broken for years. Time for a change. I hope everyone remembers what has been occurring over the past few months in the 2014 elections.

Now that this fiasco is over (for now), I would like for my Texas senators and congressmen and women to PLEASE start being productive and work with Democrats to make the ACA better. I was one of the people who wanted a single payer system, but it was the republicans who realized that this was never going to happen so they came up with the plan that became Romneycare and the ACA. It is a success in Massachusetts because both sides worked together to fix the problems inherent with any new law. Please quit trying to derail a law before giving it a chance, please think of our fellow Texans who are uninsured (the most of any state in the US), and please quit opposing everything just because you don't like the president. The ACA was YOUR plan, Take some credit, pat yourself on the back, whatever, but start tomorrow by working to make it better.

Ted Cruz cannot help himself. He is half Cuban and he inherited the Cuban ego from his father and his side of the family. The vast majority of Cubans are arrogant, smug, "higher than thou" and love power and priviledge. Those in government, especially in South Florida, are among the most corrupt. Mr Cruz clearly has his eyes on moving in to 1616 Pennsylvania Avenue, in January 2017, which is why he has become such a media hog. It is apparent that in the unlikely event he runs as a candidate for the GOP nomination and actually wins, he will lose to the democrats, especially if Hilary is the one on the other side of the fence. Like Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, is more of the same, a presidential "wannabe" that is more interested in power and prestige, than the welfare of the nation. Go back to Canada ( if they will take you back! )!

"the conservative Republican plan had been implemented five years ago, say at the inception of what is now the Obama presidency, we would have far less debt and deficit." S. King
Really Mr King? At the inception of the Obama Presidency, he inherited a Clinton era surplus turned into a monstrous deficit thanks to 2, count 'em, 2 wars waged by the Cheney presidency (one of which was not only unnecessary, but illegal and immoral),

It sounds like Reid and Obama got everything they wanted, and the American people get scrooed. Not only do we still have to eat the ACA, we are incurring more debt. The worst part, we still have no budget, and will be doing this all over in the first quarter of next year.

    "Fought the good fight"
You bring the nation to a halt, screw over hundreds of thousands of people, damage our economy, and then dismiss it as if it was something honorable. No you did not. I'm going out of my way to ensure that you do not get voted back to the government.

So now we kick the can down the road and add another Trillion Dollar tax onto the economy in the meantime. My question to all of you that are happy about this is: What are you going to do when the debt is so high, that Congress or the Fed will not be able to prevent a complete meltdown of civilization? What did you mental giants just do to our grandkids with a debt that surpases our GDP?

Also, the White House supports a provision in the deal that strengthens verification measures for people getting subsidies under Obamacare, spokesman Jay Carney said.

Carney called the change "a modest adjustment," and said it didn't amount to "ransom" for raising the federal debt ceiling because both sides agreed to it and the White House supported it. FUNNY, OBAMA WAS THE ONE THAT REMOVED THE VERIFICATION ALL BY HIMSELF EARLIER THIS YEAR.... SO..YES......RANSOM PAID.. THANKS..

Seems like John "Tin Cup" Boehner refused to lay up on the 18th again. And he got burned! You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.

We can avoid this by setting up a process where we systematically recall all the Tea Party roadblockers to send a message that it is not acceptable to do this to our country.

So if we are forced to have insurance what makes you all think they can't force something else on us. How about a device that is implanted in you to track your every movement? Its coming, sooner than you think.

The republicans must stop putting obstacles to the Obama's presidency. It is crystal clear they are still trying to make everything the president does a failure. Remember that all of your actions reflect on the whole country. A democracy means that when the people speak up and cast their vote on the voting date, that is it. Every body pushes together in the same direction. If you are a conservative it does not mean that you can throw the monkey wrench in just to show that you have a mind of your own.

Cruz thought this was 1930's Germany. Sorry, this is AMERICA in 2013!!! We believe in a Democratic system. We are not all easily brainwashed. I hope the House shows U.S. that they are for the American people and not for their own self-interests.
