Stenographer snaps, rants on House floor

Updated: 2:06 p.m. ET, 10/17/2013

Washington (CNN) – Amid all the chaos of the last-minute deal in Washington, there was an unusual moment on the House floor moments after the bill passed.

A House stenographer and well-known employee calmly took to a microphone and began screaming.

"Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand," she said, according to a House GOP aide. After a few seconds, she was escorted out by the Sergeant-at-Arms, but an audio recording by Todd Zwillich of Public Radio International captured the rest of her rant.

"He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked, (don't touch me) He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been... it would not have been... No. it would not have been... the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons... and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ."

House members and aides were surprised and unsettled by the scene.

"I don't know, she just snapped," said a GOP aide.

CNN's Dana Bash spoke with several staffers who knew the woman well.

"She’s a well-known person, she’s a perfectly nice person, a good colleague, somebody who’s respectable and dependable, and this is very surprising to everybody who works with her," Bash reported on air.

"The Sergeant in Arms didn’t try to stop her because she works there and that’s where she’s situated," Rep. Peter King, R-New York, told Jake Tapper. "And she actually went up behind the podium where the president speaks from. They thought she was going to hand something to the speaker, and then they realized."

Officer Shennell S. Antrobus of Capitol Police told CNN she wasn’t arrested or charged and was transported to a local area hospital by DC Fire for further evaluation.

In terms of an ongoing investigation or further action about the stenographer, Antrobus said no such action will be taken.

"There is nothing more, from our end, that we are going to do," Antrobus said.

–CNN’s Deirdre Walsh, Steve Brusk, Dan Merica and Conor Finnegan contributed to this report.

Her first mistake was thinking God is her "master" as if shes some slave to his desire. Thats why God gave us free will so we dont have to feel under the thumb of a "master".

When you try and force your God/religion on others and cast stones at others for not following your God, YOU are the evil.

    Cookoo for coco puffs.

That is what the DC dimwits have been best at doing, screwing the country so well that even those closes to the blackhole called the House, seek a way out with medical leave.

I never post comments, but this is very important that I have to say something. What happened here had nothing to do with this woman or what she has been seeing that would require taking her to the hospital? This is the SPIRIT OF GOD taking hold of a spiritually available person in the crowd to speak concerning this nation. It is a prophetic message from God. It is a pity that no one took this seriously or worst recognized it as it is from GOD. We need to pray for this nation so that the leaders would repent and seriously seek the will of God. I know for GOD to intervene in this manner in the middle of a meeting regarding this nation is not a small thing.

"The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was." FINALLY a religious conservative admits this is the case. Although, it seems she thinks this is a bad thing.

Hopefully they get her the care she needs. Sounds like someone who is well known and upstanding, who just went over the deep end a little bit. And even though a bit crazy, there is still wisdom in what she said about it being a house divided. We need to figure out how to not be divided, how to work with the other side, whether that side is atheists or christians, republicans or democrats, rich and poor, fortunate and wanting. No matter how opposed these are fellow citizens, neighbors, and we are only strong when we work together.

I am not surprised she snapped working with a group of evil people like Ted Cruz and the TP and the extremist repub racist GOP who have set out to destroy the President and all his good work, but Evil loses again! The GOP party is deeply divided and should be dismantled until they can get control of their party. They are destroying the image of this country and JOhn Boehner has no control. He has lost all self respect. If this is what they plan to do again in January the Supreme Court should come up with a law to fire all those who continue to hold up our government. No matter what your thoughts or feelings about the President, HE WON so live with it for the next three years. Atleast show respect for your country. Hope she finds another job with a more stable organization. Those foiks would drive anyone insane, Not surprising their evil ways are contagious.,
