Washington (CNN) - Kathleen Sebelius did little to alleviate concerns about Obamacare even after she took to the airwaves on Tuesday in her first public explanation of the health insurance program's website woes.
Instead, in an exclusive interview with CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta on the multitude of problems the enrollment website has experienced, the Health and Human Services secretary stoked more opposition.
"Sebelius' Obamacare damage control fuels critics' fire"
Oh whatever. No matter what she says or does it will "fuel critics' fire." She could resign immediately and that would just add fuel to their fire. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT OBAMA OR HIS ADMINISTRATION DOES: THEY WILL RABIDLY CRITICIZE IT NO MATTER WHAT.
Thank God Sibelius & Obama weren't handling the Iraq War. Things might have REALLY gotten screwed up.
If the Internet was the only way to sign up, we would all be worried. Fortunately, it's not. Most of the fire breathing hate machine has no clue about the law, and they are not about to find out.
There's always the phone. Lots of people have signed up or received information on the phone.
The old fashion way, remember.
@sonny, just think if Cheney had dropped dead right after 9/11. No Iraq war. Even better.
Speaking of healthcare this guy has had plenty of money and the best healthcare to keep him, unfortunately, around for more years than he deserves. Thousands of Americans and Iraqis don't get to start a brand new day like he can.
if obama is supposed to be so darn smart, why does he surround himself with so many totally incompetent people???
For those who did not get the cell phones that Mittens said Obama promised, you can call the ACA implementation on your land line.
Sonny C – great point!
Amen @Sniffit, you are right on. They would complain about this administration if the wind did not blow the right way. What else is new? It is really getting tiresome and old the tricks the GOP/TP Klan keep making up. I would not be surprised if the GOP/TP jokers had something to do with the glitches. Remember the red states did not want any parts of Obamacare and what better way to sabatoge its launch by not giving the government IT department access to link up to the program. Don't forget how they rigged the voting for Dancing With The Stars when Bristol Palin was on the show.
sonny chapman – Regardibng all things concerning military involvement, Obama did what GWB should have done from day one: Told the chicken hawks and armchair generals 9not to mention draft dodgers) to shut up, and let the Pentagon do things the way THEY wanted to be done.
So what's your point again?
"Thank God Sibelius & Obama weren't handling the Iraq War. Things might have REALLY gotten screwed up".
Either this is a joke, but if not, it is the dumbest thing I have read in a long time. It even goes beyond
"just sayin"............and that's not easy to do.
Humana and United Health Care are advertising on CNN's Political Ticker. Both firms have fled the Marketplace Exchanges.
Question for CNN: how are you going to address this conflict of interest, which is clearly coloring your Obamacare coverage, to your viewers and readers?
"Oh whatever. No matter what she says or does it will "fuel critics' fire." She could resign immediately and that would just add fuel to their fire. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT OBAMA OR HIS ADMINISTRATION DOES: THEY WILL RABIDLY CRITICIZE IT NO MATTER WHAT."
What a hollow argument. How can you defend this? You finally have bipartisan agreement on something. There is no doubt this system doesn't work well. I remember very well how much you and every other liberal was touting the success of the site because 3 million went on in day one. You were so excited and said that this demonstrated how great the ACA is. You were telling everyone that was against it how wrong we were and look how great this is. Now, you're telling us that we aren't allowed to criticize because it will be fixed and blah blah blah.
It is more and more apparent that liberals cannot take criticism and deflect it away. Now all of the liberals on the site are mad, not because of the shoddy site and all of its misgivings, but because CNN is talking about it so much. There are so many things that demonstrate how wrong this whole program is so far:
– The site isn't up in Spanish yet so what are they supposed to do? – Do you hate Latinos?
– We know how many people have started to sign up but Sebilus won't tell us how many have actually completed, why will they tell how many have started but not how many have completed – are they hiding something?
– Hundreds of millions of dollars for an aggregation site – I can't believe you have the audacity to defend this
– Basically done on a no bid basis through a CANADIAN company – why wasn't an American company considered?
– Old technology used to build the site – simply inexcusable
– Sebilus saying we need FIVE years to build the program properly (another example of politics trumping what's best) – if they needed 5 years, then why did they have to do after 3?
I know I'm forgetting other things now. Are you so stubborn to not be able to admit that this has been a horrible roll out? You crowed about how great it was after days 1, 2 and 3. Shouldn't you acknowledge how bad it is on days 4-23?? Stop, for once, being so partisan. Take it from an American point of view and not a democrat point of view. It might help you calm down and actually be fair. My goodness.
"Humana and United Health Care are advertising on CNN's Political Ticker. Both firms have fled the Marketplace Exchanges"
That could simply be a "network" buy and not necessarily targeted to the Ticker. Companies like Humana and United Health do not buy the internet as granular as that. It's not possible. I think you're being just a little bit paranoid now. And I'm bummed I didn't see your response from yesterday...I'm sure you had me dominated! :)
They hate for our freedom.
We have a better plan right? And we do have good intentions. Well folks, THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS. And this is not 1930 so there is no excuse for the Web site to not work. So after only 100 years of Liberal Politics in charge why does everything still look like the 1930's?
""Thank God Sibelius & Obama weren't handling the Iraq War. Things might have REALLY gotten screwed up".
Either this is a joke, but if not, it is the dumbest thing I have read in a long time."
It's not a joke. It's a new RWNJ talking point fueled by Ron Faurnier of the National Journal who made the obscenely ridiculous comparison/analogy that this website problem is just like Bush starting a war of convenience based on lies, killing 100,000+ innocent Iraqis and getting 5,000 'Murikan troops killed. He even started the "let's compare" game with Katrina. It's as absurd and hyperbolic as the GOP/Teatrolls' efforts to scream "it's just like Watergate" at everything under the sun but, well, the MSM is going to run with anything they can get their hands on in order to inflate every and any controversy they can and they're certainly not going to do anything to correct the inaccuracies from the GOP/Teatrolls that feed those controversies. It would be akin to the MSM ridding itself of a symbiote upon which it relies for sustenance.
