Obama puts immigration back in spotlight

Washington (CNN) - It's time to fix the United States' "broken immigration system," President Barack Obama said Thursday, citing bipartisan support to revamp immigration laws.

His speech didn't reveal anything that hasn't been said before, but the announcement put the immigration issue back in the spotlight.

Obama is to make an announcement about the issue at 10:35 a.m. from the White House East Room.

First on CNN: Making the pitch for Virginia women

Washington (CNN) – Hours before Thursday's final debate in the race for Virginia governor, a leading abortion rights group says it's going up with internet ads that attack the Republican candidate in the race, state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, for "meddling in women's private health decisions."
