It is not like he is responsible for enforcing laws as the Attorney General.... oh wait.... looks like yet another Democrat that has no interest in enforcing laws.

If it was a Republican candidate, it would have been a headline and it would have looked something like this.

Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Doug Ganslar is under fire for attending a party where there may have been underage drinking. A picture posted on the internet shows Ganslar appearing to take photos with his phone of the teenagers at the party, some of whom were in various stages of undress.

His own kid was there. A group of parents, turned chaperones, had rented a house for a post prom party. He was one of several chaperones, who were there to make sure there was no hard liquor, nor any drinking and driving.

A perfect recipe for a political storm. Does he call the cops and risk being accused of abusing his power as Attorney General? Does he break the party up and run the same risk? Does he get his kid out of there, and wind up in the current pot of boiling water in which he finds himself. Answer. He never should have volunteered to be a chaperone.

He isn't responsible for enforcing laws in a different state. Look before you leap.

"If it was a Republican candidate, it would have been a headline and it would have looked something like this."

You mean like the Republican state senator, Chris McDaniels, who is running for the Senate in Mississippi, who attended and gave a speech for a neo-confederate organization that promotes secession, but it somehow just slipped past the MSM's notice that an elected state official trying to become one of the most powerful legislators in the country is pandering to people who support secession and destroying the union because they haven't let go of the Civil War?

Jobs? Do you honestly think the GOP is going to go all JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! on us again this close to 2014? It will only serve as a blaring reminder that they failed their last JOBS! meme.

    Exactly Lynda!

I agree with you 100%. The GOTP will hang themselves on immigration. And, they'll probably do it before the year is up, and the hanging will be completely forgotten about by November 2014. There's an Election Day coming in less than two weeks and everyone has forgotten about the uproar the right wing caused when 90% of Americans wanted sensible gun reforms. Going big on immigration reform will only cause it to be a dead horse come November 2014.

I see what you're saying Rudy, however here's the thing with us Latino voters: we remember. We remember people that screw us and people that try to help us. And we remember for quite someitme.
The President should seize his moment and proceed with his/our agenda. No need to wait until it gets closer to 2014.
We will remember who tried and who blocked.
Believe that Rudy, and we will voice our sentiments in 2014 AND 2016.

BTW that was Lynda's comment you posted babe (with the exception of the last line). I don't know if you meant to do that or if the copy and paste thingy got jammed but I didn't want to take credit for my buddy Lynda's good points!

Were these kids allowed to drink by their parents who were either giving the party or attending it?
How old were they? 19, 20 few moths short of their 21st birthday?
Is the AG supposed to be "that guy" and say "Hey, your 20 year-old is having a beer, albeit with your blessing, but i snatched it from him and created a scene in somebody else's house because there is the distinct probability that cnn is going to get wind of this and put it up on their political ticker?"!

I guess none of us has been to an adult party where there was some punk kid sneaking drinks in the basement....
    Yawn....

Were they drinking beer or gin?
Were they sneaking like most teens?

I do like green eggs and ham....

"Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler is under fire for attending a party where there may have been underage drinking."

Immediate attacks from the right against the Democrat because there 'may have been underage drinking'... may have been, MAY HAVE BEEN. Guilty until proven innocent if you have a D after your name. Innocent even if you have videotape, an eyewitness, and a confession with the R after your name. And you folks cannot understand why you can't win a fair and square election....

Thanks for the story (background) Rudy. Who knew?
All I got from CNN were two enigmatic sentences and no story.
So now that I know it appears that the AG did not know what he was letting himself in for when he decided to chaperone a bunch of graduating high school seniors.
The AG should've perhaps recollected what his senior prom after-party entailed...
