Sources: White House told insurance execs to keep quiet on Obamacare

(CNN) - White House officials have pressured insurance industry executives to keep quiet amid mounting criticism over Obamacare's rollout, insurance industry sources told CNN.

After insurance officials publicly criticized the implementation, White House staffers contacted insurers to express their displeasure, industry insiders said.

How to stoke the nontroversy fires: refer to unnamed sources and then find a bombastic 20-year critic of all things health reform as your only named source.

    Yawn.

So when this all blows over (and it will) whatever will GOPerville have left to discuss? This game of political charades has been going on now for three weeks.

Silly lobbyists. Still trying to fit into their big boy pants, eh? Too funny.

Well, maybe not funny. Sad actually. In that Americans have allowed these same lobbyists to run our great country into the ground, I should have instead said too sad for words.

Fair – If lying was against the law, there would not be a republican left in congress, nor anyone here to post Hannity craziness.

Ready for the next shoe to drop in the OBOZOCARE mess, wait until you all find out about what it did to Medicare Advantage plans used by senior citizens. Now you will see the true face off democrat liberals and it is very ugly.

Laszewski said insurance company officials are embarrassed that they have to cancel plans and force people into more robust, and possibly more expensive, coverage.
Insurers, he said, warned the White House that the regulations would lead to discontinued policies.

This is what happens when you lay down with dogs.... you get fleas!

And of course they warned them! But why would they have to? Didn't these White House clowns read their own law? The CBO has been saying for years millions would lose their healthcare coverage on the employer side of this mess. I don't know why they totally missed the whole aspect of Obamacare rendering private plans illegal and getting far more cancelled. Maybe because Obama lied to them as well as all of us and they believed him too?

I trust critics of the law to be honest and forthright. Just kidding. By the way, why is it that the republicans from the 10 red states with the worst uninsured rates are so anti ACA?

And yet CNN continues to do no independent investigative work or analytical work to back up the unnamed sources' claims.

It has become painfully clear that not only do we have a liar in the Oval Office, the rest of the place is inhabited by thugs, criminals and hit men. time to impeach and incarcerate the whole lot of them.

Wow. What a slow news cycle. I saw this story discreditted last night on another media outlet.
Where's the story on Ron Paul's plagiarism? Everyone should check this out, because it is NOT just wild 'librul' allegations, this is Ron Paul quoting wikipedia verbatim in his political speeches. These are prepared speeches off a teleprompter and they are word for word. Not just sentences or phrases, but entire sections of his speeches are plagiarised from Wikipedia. I know the MSM hasn't got hold of this (they are too, librul, I guess), but Biden had to drop out of his presidential bid over allegations of plagiarism. Paul's office has so far been stonewalling hoping this will go away.
    Look it up....

CNN : please do investigative reporting instead of reacting on unnamed sources. Tell Americans what is in the law....how it will help them instead of promoting the GOP/Tea Party folks who wanted this law destroyed long ago. Are there problems, yes, but we should be trying to d telling solve problems and making it better rather than destroying the law and telling falsehoods. Investigate why people are losing their healthcare. Because their policies did not meet the standards of the law. GOP/Tea Party always tell the American people how they should adhere to standards in regard to abortion, contraceptives, women's health, marriage, guns, etc.
Do your job CNN and tell the American people how this law will help .....how about preexisting conditions for a start. Medicare, Social Security, Medicare D all had slow starts and problems. Do not destroy a law that will help millions! Do not be another FOX NEWS Station!

"only problem is that it may take years or decades and thousands if not millions will die waiting for treatment. who needs death panels when you have death waiting rooms?! thanks obamacare."
    --–
Ridiculous hyperbole. Would you like to add something scary about fluoride in the drinking water?
    --–
oh really? it happens every day in these countries where it takes months and years to get treatment. why do you think canadians come to the usa for treatment? please stop lying about and denying what is a well known fact.

40,000 die each year for lack of insurance and access to medical care. Fact: That won't go up by providing people with insurance.
    ---

nobody does fotr lack of healthcare insurance because people cannot be denied care. and having health insurance does not guarantee a person actual healthcare they can use when they need it. even today try calling and seeing your doctor the same day? it just does not happen. if you are lucky you might be able to see a nurse. and this will become far far worse. you simply do not drop millions and millions of people into an already stressed system and expect to see nothing break.

only delusional liberals, devoid of any contact with reality, think you can do this without dire consequences like very long wait times and deaths waiting for treatment.

    --------------
Exactly. Having health insurance didn't always guarantee that a person would get the actual health care they needed. Many times the insurance companies would deny coverage, which forced people to pay out of pocket or worse.

And, that's why the Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act. [ big buck toothed grin, complete with head nods ]
