Obamacare: It's about government's role, future elections

Washington (CNN) - A "big f***ing deal" has become an equally big fight, with Republicans relentlessly attacking President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms over the new reality they are bringing to the health insurance market.

One reason is the GOP's ideological opposition to big government, as manifested by the health care overhaul intended to hold down rising costs that threaten U.S. fiscal stability.

America as of today is equal to Nigeria in wealth disparity between it's population.

We need more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy if we want to widen the gap between the wealthy and the poor .

Don't let Nigeria leed the disparity race !

Third world indeed. The Kochs and other billionaire warlords are just waiting to divide up our country when they get the GOP to destroy it.

USA never used to be this way. We used to get raises in jobs, Christmas bonuses etc. it is greed. GOP messed this nation to the ground with Wars, poured trillions of dollars in Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan etc. now these thugs talk of fiscal RESPONSIBILITY. Total ignorance and rediculous. Shame.

Progressives and their social agenda are looking to divide the country to the point of another European model of stagnation. Since they control the Democrat party these days and have done more damage with the $17 trillion dollar deficit and now Obamacare the Americans public is going to push back come 2014. It's time to send these hillbillies back home and for good!

Tampa Tim, I fear you'll probably have to be the one, along with other Florida residents, to give us the low-down on Florida races for the balance of the year. The Ticker has devoted itself to anti-Obamacare talking points for the balance of the year till November 2014.

    Gurgyl,
What's that you say? USA never used to be this way. Sounds like you want your Cake and Eat it too. You want to go back to the good old days that many on here are detesting, including you? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. With Obama Care, the Liberal's are trying to fix something that isn't broken. The Conservatives have always been fiscally responsible For a business to pay it's employees they have to take in the money. Because of good times as well as bad ties they have to take more than may be necessary, but they can pay the employee. Savvy?

    Quite so Gurgyl.
The company I work for outsourced our call center to Canada back in 2007. They "displaced" 12 American workers in the process. Some of those workers had been with the company for over 15 years.
They claimed that "we" needed to tighten our belts.
Since then they've opened up 3 other locations locally and in PA.
Those 12 workers have not been re-hired.
Our call center is still in Canada.
There's a HUGE American flag that flies over our parking lot...
Yes. This place is Republican run.

You are suffering from short term memory loss. "Deficits don't matter." Conservatives have a terrible track record when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Ronald Reagan spent so much that he increased by the annual deficit by a factor of ten, which tripled the national debt before the end of his first term. George H.W. Bush raised taxes tio pay for Reagan's excesses, which he called voodoo economics, and the right wing voted him out of office.

George W. Bush's excess are the stuff of horror movies. He took a $350B surplus and flipped it into a $1.5T deficit, which is a difference of almost $2 trillion in annual spending. The size of the federal government exploded under Bush. While the size of the federal work force seems to have grown modestly, in actuality it mushroomed out of control. The size of the federal wrok force does not reflect all of the *privatized* job positions within the federal governement.
