    Why is it so hard for so many in the right wing to accept defeat with humility? Why all the bitterness? You act like kids.

    Legalize and Tax Marijuana .

    One third of revenue should go towards mental health and drug rehabilitation .

    For any state, city or county that even considers secession should be branded as traitors and all aid should immediately be cut off for them. As far as weed goes, legalize it, tax it and stop incarcerating people for it.

    "Last year, voters in sharply divided Colorado decided to legalize recreational marijuana. This year, they're being asked to impose a special 15% excise tax on the drug to help fund school construction"

    "The question of secession also made it on the ballot in several Colorado counties."

    Because "freedom" means never having to lose an election...and "tyranny" means "fair democratic elections resulted in my candidates losing and the winners enacting policies I don't like." What a farce. It will go nowhere even if the counties vote for it. "Waaaah, I'm taking my ball and going home." Know how many people are in these counties? Like 200,000...and they want to have themselves 2 Senators and Reps in the national congress? Like I said...what a selfish farce.

    If the marijuana is being used for medicinal purposes, then why tax it?

    Legalize it. then tax hell out of it. Raise taxes on tobacco, and alcohol consumption. Then go after companies that fail to pay their employees enough, to stay off public assistance. But don't even think about cutting the salaries of elected officials. That's a complete no-no if there ever was one.

    how wonderful... liberals create health and drug dependency problems with liberal policies, then want to tax addicts to fix the problems you created. and these are the same whack jobs that want to run the country?

    Grandma takes a shot of whiskey every night for medical purposes. Red wine has been shown to have medicinal properties. Two drinks a day helps people live longer. Why shouldn't we also get rid of all the alcohol taxes as well?

    -no, Justy, its you who are clueless, or deliberately provacative. They said they wanted to be known as North Colorado: does that sound like any state you can actually google and find on a map? Only one county would be peeled off and added to WY. Next time, read the damn article, or have your mom read it to you.

    As usual, no solution offered, but plenty of insults. I guess you must be perfectly happy with alcohol being legal and being taxed, or do you live in a dry county and live on the front lawn of the local Baptist Church with the rest of the new Pharisees?

    Really? Is that why representatives from 10 of the counties met in July 2013 and drew up plans for a 51st state they want to call "North Colorado"? Haha...it's almost like you WANT me to embarrass you.

    @Fair,

    "That's kind of ironic. Really."Tax Pot – For The Children"

    Ironic, but not unprecedented. Here in California we add extra taxes to cigarettes and call it the "First Five initiative. The cig taxes (supposedly - I have my doubts) go toward funding programs for kids under the age of five.

    Personally, I think we could do better by using gambling taxes for that. Cigs are a dead-end outside the Tobacco Belt. It's a slowly dying industry. Gambling, however, is forever.
