Obama dips under 40% in new poll

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's nearing his all-time low approval rating in Gallup polling.

According to Gallup's latest daily tracking poll, which was conducted Saturday through Monday and released Tuesday afternoon, 39% of Americans approve of the job the President's doing in the White House, with 53% saying they disapprove.

Obama's all-time low approval rating in Gallup polling was 38%, which he briefly sank to in 2011, and his disapproval rating rose to a record 54% that same year.

The president's approval rating has stood in the low to mid 40's in most non-partisan live operation national polls conducted over the past couple of weeks.

Obama's approval rating, in the aftermath of his 2012 re-election, hovered in the low 50's in most surveys around the time of second inauguration in January of this year.

A president's standing in public opinion polling is considered a gauge of his clout.

"The working poor are just that: WORKING. If you don't want them to receive public assistance, then demand they be PAID A LIVING WAGE."

That's what's called Walmart subsidizing its profits and executive pay packages by forcing its employees to live off gov't handouts. It's an indirect subsidy of those businesses who do that and functionally no different than the federal gov't handing them a subsidy check directly.

Yeah, President Obama is the problem. You GOP enablers should be furious that companies are not paying their employees a wage that will cover their basic needs. No! It is not okay to not care that people need help even if they are working. I think the best thing for selfish, self-congratulating people should be forced to walk in these peoples shoes. YOU are NOT better than anyone, so stop it!!!!

I agree lets replace Obamacare with the GOP idea. Hey GOP whats your plan for the yearly increase of my premiums? (cricket, cricket, cricket, thats what I thought not a dang thing. Until you have a plan just do what the majority of Americans want you to do keep your mouth shut. How about working on that 20% approval rating you have in the Congress.

@ Rudy: "I told you he should have pivoted to jobs and the economy, instead of immigration reform."

Honestly, Rudy. We knew this continual anti-Obama talk was coming from the first day of his Presidency. Do you not remember the words "teleprompter"? If that wasn't a signal that the GOP wasn't going to EVER work with this man, I don't know what else to say. We're talking T-E-L-E-P-R-O-M-P-T-E-R.

Job creation? There was NEVER going to be a jobs bill. There was NEVER supposed to be ACA. There was NEVER supposed to be any bi-partisanship with this President.

I am truly sorry that the party I supported for over 30 years lowered itself to this level of pettiness, but there was nothing I or anyone else could do but sit back and watch it happen during 2010. I am only one vote. I've said this so many times, I feel exhausted just thinking of it.

    One Vote.

The very worst happened. Folks got upset that they didn't get 100% of what they wanted. Dems sat home in protest. Obama's ratings come full square back to a group of whiners, much in the same manner the GOP if facing its own set of whiners.

May the best whiners win. Or not. I've seen the destruction the GOP offers. I've read the comments from those who want nothing but destruction.

And, yes. This is what it comes down to. Those who whine the loudest cause the most damage.

I am equally sorry the media bought into the whine fest.

If you rated him based on what he actually deserves.........his numbers would not exceed 10%.

Over a million Americans have enrolled in ACA / Obama care then promptly opted OUT taking a heavy fine in the process it is such a wonderful law as written. Midterms were going to be a walkover now all the Dems are screaming delay implementation of the ACA for after the elections wonder why? Train wreck is coming...........

Here's is what Bill Clinton, the darling of the libs said about Obama. I guess he is an extremist too. Huh, libs?

Mr Clinton has, for example, on earlier occasions called Mr Obama "incompetent" and "an amateur" who has no clue about how the world operates, according to an article in Sunday's Post by Edward Klein, author of The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House.

"Obama doesn't know how to be president," Mr Clinton told friends and political advisers last year, the article added.

"He doesn't know how the world works," Mr Clinton had said. Mr Klein said Mr Clinton had convened a meeting at his Chappaqua, Westchester, home to urge his wife to challenge Mr Obama for the 2012 nomination.

I could care less about ratings at this point. The President will finish the job he starting back in 2008 and be forever known for getting Bin Laden, saving the Auto Industry, having Wall Street back to nearly 16,000 (Can you say 401K totally recovered?) and a host of other things that have made life a little bit better. Even the ACA (once it is tweaked and the website is fixed) will ultimately help millions. What I have ZERO interest in is turning the Executive brand of the Government back over to people who would just as soon go back to Jim Crow, abolish Roe v. Wade, completely kill the voting rights act (such as it is now.) and a host of other pre 1950's BS. We are never going back. Deal with it...

President Obama will not be running for re-election. Isn't it time for you (and others) to start working on improving your own presidential candidates and party platform?

Yeah but you gotta have some of those first Lynda.
    They've got nothing. AGAIN.
This explains all the nonsense hoopla about Christie, the man lest we forget that didn't make it to first base on a VP vetting.
I mean hell, Sarah Palin made it past the vetting stage and Christie did not? Doesn't that tell you something? Something not so good GOPeeing Teatards?

As well you should be because that would mean that you've lost control of the House.
We're giving him a Congress that he can work withi in 2014, not the fiscally irresponsible, obstructing ideologues he's had to contend with for the past few years.
