Graham to keep holds on Obama nominees

Washington (CNN) - Sen. Lindsey Graham vowed on Sunday that he would continue to block President Barack Obama's nominations until Congress hears from Benghazi survivors.

The South Carolina lawmaker told CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" that he will place holds on any nomination put forth by the administration unless it makes available five survivors of the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, who have been interviewed by State Department investigators but remain out of Congress' reach.

"I've been trying for a year to get these interviews without holds," Graham said.

Graham scoffed at any notion his maneuver amounts to political grandstanding, portraying his actions as a last resort and couching them as part of "trying to perform oversight."

"I don't want to hold anybody. All I want to do is talk to the survivors," Graham insisted. "I'm not trying to prosecute a crime."

Graham announced his intention to hold all of Obama’s nominations the day after CBS's "60 Minutes" aired a controversial report on the attacks. The newsmagazine has since pulled its report, saying that its eyewitness, a British contractor stationed in Libya, lied to reporter Lara Logan about what he saw on the ground.

When pressed by Crowley about whether the debunking of the piece would impact his stance, Graham told her it wouldn’t.
"I never asked for the British contractor. I didn't know he existed," Graham said.

Do away with these so called holds that these feeble senators use to make them feel important. Another has been that has been in office too long.

I really wish the GOP would simply stick with one topic. Maybe they might actually be able to do something? Yea...you're right...they are Republicans..this is all they can do.

This is a display of peacock feathers from someone who doesn't realize how tired much of the American public is of "Party of No" posturing. He's probably playing to his own base. But his job is to represent all of us and that contradicts holding up these nominations.

    Dear Sen. Lindsey Graham,
Where were you when Reagan was our boss Commander and Chief (and I was very proud of him) when the bombings took place by Qaddafi . No one did anything to him. In my opinion he was the best Republican bar none since my time. You my Fellow American are part of the problem! You don't know when to quit and start recovering the Republicans so they can begin vetting for someone like Reagan. You have Ted Cruz...Mario Rubio and others who are extremist in your TeaParty Republican issues...Get back to the Real America and you might garner more listeners. Right now with the dark cloud hovering over the only report in which CBS has clearly stated
"CBS's 60 Minutes" aired a controversial report on the attacks. Can you say that some people carry their politics with them 24/7 even in times of war?
The Day and Age of people not being well informed is slowly eroding away and we want a more of a Faithful, Transparent and in touch group of representatives with normal everyday Americans than you and your partisan buddies across both sides of the aisle. We demand it and will show it on each and every vote. Americans are tired of being the piggy bank of corporations...Its time to start paying us back instead of trying to attack the other party & the other party attack you back. In other words...start doing your job looking out for all Americans...Not just the biggest donor. Save the warrantless battles for conspiracy theorist. Republicans and Democrats are both giving Jesse Ventura credence about being the two party dictator system.

No doubt, Senator Graham will still be demanding to interview the survivors of Benhazi as Hilliary is taking the Oath of Office.

Stop asking questions! You are appearing to look like the Tea Party, which of course is more important to avoid than whatever truth you are trying to get at . So just stop it.

Are you the same "Scotty" that the Bush Administration refused to allow to testify about Cheney leaking the name of CIA Agent Valerie Plame, by law an act of treason, which was done to punish her CIA Agent husband, Joe Wilson, who disclosed that Bush knew the "Nigeria-Iraq Uranium Deal" was a fraud but Bush presented it to the UN anyway?

The administration can declare it a sensitive security issue just like Bush did!

Of course the GOP isn't backing down. Since they have absolutely nothing to offer Americans, they want to focus on attacking the opposition and pray that something sticks. All the GOP wants to do is obstruct. The GOP mantra is "Government isn't the answer" then they get elected and prove it. The current GOP does not govern. They hate the opposition and hate not having the White House more than they love their country.

Graham still lobbing right wing bombs from the sidelines. Senator....work on issues that will HELP America. We need to forget about foreign ANYTHING and concentrate on REBUILDING America. You're not going to bring back these fallen warriors. Watch CNN tonight...Bourdain on Detroit. Here we have a city in the USA that has broken down. In ruins. We need to help our own. Rebuild crumbling cities and old factories. We are all tired of buying junk that says 'Made in China'....we have many more like Detroit waiting to happen .

The ambassador repeatedly ignored his security team because he wanted to be among the"people". Nobody wants to talk about it now because you don't speak I'll of the dead. It's too late now but the State Department should have removed him for his actions.

I am a South Carolina Democrat who once respected Sen. Graham as a seasoned and sensible man who believed in principled compromise. Now he licks the boots of the Tea Party yet they will STILL boot him out for some knuckle-dragger in the 2014 primary.

Why is the administration keeping survivors from talking about their experience that night? It seems appropriate that we would hear from the 30 or 35 survivors as to what exactly happened that night. What is there to hide at this point?

I hear a lot of Obama Sheep. All this man wants to do is ask questions, how is that a problem? How about the administration answer questions on the gun-ring with Mexico, they are still hiding that. How about the administration answer questions on the healthcare website, the one that was a no-bid contract giving to a friend for an overpaid and underperforming to say the least product. Why are they hiding the enrollment numbers for the health care plan, Obama said on day one the problems with the website was due to an overwhelming number of interest in signing up(what a joke/complete lie). Obama doesn't even let the press take pictures of him in the white house instead he issues his own pictures of him acting cool with his feet on the desk. A man that promised an open administration has again lied to the American people

If there's nothing to hide, why is the State Dept. and Mr. Obama so dead-set against these people talking to Congress?

What happened to transparency? Oh, it went away right along with the "Nobody will lose their existing healthcare policy" promise.

    Sorry, I forgot.

An embassy in a remote, unstable part of the world was attacked. Obama's administration sent mixed messages the first day or two on what had happened. End of story, mystery solved, mission complete. Absolutely no one outside of the GOP cares about this. US interests are attacked during every administration. Lord, if the GOP put 1/10 of the effort into creating jobs and passing legislation to help this country as they did trying to find an "Obamagate", or fighting Obamacare we might make some progress in this country. Can we please start voting these nincompoops out of office now?

Ms Lindsay, once again, please go sit on your veranda with a your fan and a bit of mint. You are way too much of an embarrassment.
Y'all want to hear fun things from his office? Call his DC office and listen to the bs some intern gives you and how they blame everything on our President including calling the WH if you have a problem. Little ms Lindsay is not man enough to deal with anything himself except those "things" in his head.
