Washington (CNN) – Former President George W. Bush will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 19, a spokesman for NBC tells CNN.
The former Republican president, who has largely avoided the spotlight since leaving the White House in 2009, will sit down with Leno to discuss his post-White House life.
This will be the former president’s fourth appearance on the show. It’s his second since leaving the White House.
Bush first appeared on the program on March 6, 2000, when he was the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. He later sat down with Leno on October 30, 2000, days before voters went to the polls in his race against then-Vice President Al Gore.
The last time Bush was on The Tonight Show was on November 18, 2010, during a media blitz to promote his memoir “Decision Points.”
“President Bush is going to be in the area next week so he was happy to accept Jay Leno’s invitation to drop by the show one last time,” Bush spokesman Freddy Ford said. “He is looking forward to congratulating Jay his 20 plus year run hosting the Tonight Show.”
Earlier this year, NBC announced that Leno would be ending his run as Tonight Show host in the spring of 2014.
