Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama didn’t mention Obamacare once in his weekly address Saturday, preferring instead to tout progress toward American energy independence.
“After years of talk about reducing our dependence on foreign oil, we are actually poised to control our own energy future,” Obama said, pointing to administration policies like green investments that have spurred domestic production and renewable energy use while improving fuel standards.
For Obama, the progress means an improved economy by creating jobs while also lessening environmental impacts.
“It proves that the old argument that we can’t strengthen the economy and be good stewards of our planet at the same time is a false choice. We can do both,” he said.
The President also marked a milestone.
“Just this week, we learned that for the first time in nearly two decades, the United States of America now produces more of our own oil here at home than we buy from other countries,” he said.
“That’s a big deal.”
We export more oil than we keep but that's just the tip of the ice burg why would we keep the oil here when we can sell it for a lot more on the open market I know I would.
Obama as always trying to diver attention away from the more serious issues we have thanks to all the overspending and give always his party thrives on.
I thought no law was allowed to be passed without applying to Congress too.
So you spend 3-5 years lying about your main issue....it fails, and you mention very little about your actual management of it.
How pathetic is this man? Oh wait, it's the Republicans faults or the insurance companies... Enough with the politics, the American people demand competency. Is it racist to criticize one who fails to meet expectations? Is it racist to hold someone to higher standard? Is it racist to judge a man not by the color of his skin, but content of his character?
