A bipartisan tribute to the Gettysburg Address

(CNN) - Amid the political divisiveness in Washington, two U.S. senators from North Dakota recited the Gettysburg Address together in a show of bipartisanship to honor the famed speech in light of its 150th anniversary on Tuesday.

In a video posted on YouTube, GOP Sen. John Hoeven and Democrat Heidi Heitkamp recited Abraham Lincoln's historic address for the Learn the Address project, an initiative started by filmmaker Ken Burns.

Burns’ project encourages whoever wishes to participate to record themselves reciting the address to "embrace the 150th anniversary and take this opportunity to more fully understand our democracy and our freedom."

President Barack Obama appears in a video with the four other living Presidents to recite the speech. Videos of Bill Gates, Conan O'Brien and a number of other high profile figures in politics, media and entertainment are also posted to the project's website.
