Mike Tyson to Piers Morgan: Obamacare is 'really bad'

(CNN) - He used to be a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act, but Mike Tyson now says Obamacare's suffered a knockout.

"It just really went horrible," the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on "Piers Morgan Live."

"It's really, it's really bad," Tyson added.

The comments appear to be a change of opinion for Tyson, who in an 2012 interview with Morgan applauded President Barack Obama's efforts on health care, adding that the President and Vice President Joe Biden  "give the people in that desperational need, that hope."

The start up of Obamacare over the past two months has been extremely flawed, with major problems plaguing HealthCare.gov, the system's main website for people to sign up for coverage, and with a controversy over insurance policy cancellations due primarily to the new national health law.

Tyson says he still believes in giving health care coverage to the millions of Americans currently without insurance, but added that "as of now it doesn't seem they can get it. I was for it a 100 percent but we just have to come to the reality that it didn't work."

What's wrong, Piers? Don't have the balls to challenge someone like Mike Tyson? I wish you'd have asked his opinion on gun control.

Who is Mike Tyson and what does his comment regarding Obamacare matters! You can't say something does not work until it is given an ample amount of time to work. If antibiotics fail to work in the time we want it too, do we stop taking it, I think not. In 3 to 6 months after being given a chance to succeed, we will all be praising Obamacare.....promise!

"it's really bad". Well, there you go. A stunning in-depth analysis by a man with a facial tattoo. Why didn't they get his input before starting the project? I'm sure TysonCare would have been a boon.

  10. I'm 26

I'm married and with child. I have a life insurance policy, no health coverage. My wife and child have a "Cadillac" plan. I will pay the fee the first year for bamacair. Me, looking at it statistically, will be fine and save money 98%+ of the time. I've saved 6K+ so far, because I have no pre-existing conditions and am healthy as a horse. Look around people, why should I subsidize YOU? People forget us "millennials" are not complete sheep. Another way to put it; Would you spend $200 plus a month on "protection" of a "stock" that has a 0.5-1% with an average holdings – or "catastrophic" loss – of less than $70K (or LESS than 0.5% because of my exemplary health, weight, pre-ex, and lifestyle) chance of failure? No you wouldn't, are you STUPID>>>??? We are not as gullible as the government would like. (These are averages and generalizations, but you would be surprised at how accurate I am in this post.) I have less than a 0.1% chance of going into bankruptcy because I DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE. Wake up peeps....

The only 'winners' with the ACA are the government and those dependent on the government

The bad thing is its coming from an ex-convict with no intelligence, who should have his head examined as a result of thousand times knockout suffered on that head. But the good thing is ACA is here to stay and will continue to get better. Millions of people have already benefited from Obamacare and if you're among the millions that received cancellation letter from Insurance companies, sign up to Obamacare for a better deal.

Wow B list celebrities? Who care? Oh wait, Dems do. They love their rich celebs telling them how to live their lives. What a pathetic excuse for an insult.

Yeah, it could be a lot better. It should be a single-payer system, but the Dems wimped out to right-wing special interests.

Mr Tyson remains a celebrity (albeit not like he once was), and Piers invited Tyson on the show. Piers asked the questions and got the answers from Tyson. Maybe not the answers he anticipated, but honest answers. It is not the leftist elitists who suffer the most from the failed ACA but the average citizens. Can't just blame the GOP who appear to have been correct in their concerns over ACA. And where is the 'sabotage' that commenters refer to?? This was a poorly planned and executed piece of legislation.
One of the reasons for the ongoing failures is the enormous sector of the American population that is on Social assistance of some sort. Another is the failure of the POTUS to accurately depict and predict the implementation of the ACA. WHen the citizens can see that they have been mislead and lied to, they will not embrace the ongoing message or the plan.

Wondering what Tyson knows about politics or healthcare. This guy lacks an IQ – otherwise he wouldn't of been a punching bag for over half his life. Maybe "Obamacare" doesn't apply to him and he's complaining.

Heck, almost half of democrats nationally want to pull the plug on Obamacare, especially before the employer mandate kicks in. Obama's lies and the web site roll out will look like child's play when the the employers date rolls out, right after the elections next year

Take a good look at Mike in this video, Mike seems confused about the subject matter. He does'nt know what to say (kind of reminds me of good old Sarah). Goes to show that when some people are not well versed and fully updated on a subject matter, maybe a simple "no comment" may be the best response.
