Rep. Kennedy joins immigration fast

Washington (CNN) - Rep. Joe Kennedy III on Tuesday joined a fast aimed at encouraging the House of Representatives to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

The freshman Democratic congressman from Massachusetts is among six activists who will replace current members of the "Fast for Families" group, many of whom are too weak to continue after 22 days of foregoing any sustenance except water. The group has been camped out on the National Mall  to protest the lack of progress on immigration measures pending in the House.

Washington (CNN) - House Speaker John Boehner rejected the label that this is a "do nothing" session of Congress, telling reporters Tuesday on Capitol Hill, "we've done our work."

Top House Dem regrets using 'Obamacare' to describe health care law

Washington (CNN) – As the White House begins a series of events over the next few weeks to highlight the benefits of the new health care law, the number two House Democrat said the President's signature domestic achievement doesn't need to be rebranded, but he regrets referring to the Affordable Care Act as "Obamacare."

"I wish I hadn't' called it Obamacare before because that has politicized it and has been used by Republicans as a pejorative term," Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, told reporters on Tuesday.

Rubio: Culture keeps U.S.-U.K. bond strong

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, speaking in London at the leading think-thank the Chatham House, said Tuesday America's changing demographics won't affect the country's longtime relationship with the United Kingdom, pushing back at the notion that the U.S.- U.K. bond solely relies on its ancestral ties.

In a speech about foreign policy, the potential presidential candidate also said he was skeptical of the initial nuclear deal reached for Iran. He also focused a significant portion of his remarks on posing threats by the Russian government, even taking a sharp attack on its President, Vladimir Putin.
