Washington (CNN) – While immigration reform is stalled in Congress, some members are calling on President Barack Obama to take the matter into his own hands, urging him to suspend deportations of undocumented immigrants.
Thirty Democratic members of Congress wrote in a letter that he has the authority to pause deportations of undocumented immigrants, urging "the sensible and moral step of stopping deportations."
The REAL Truth...
@Tommy G – let deal with some FACTS here tommy... illegals are here because pro-Republican SMALL (and LARGE) BUSINESSES need their CHEAP LABOR!! Simple. Until Americans do NOT consider the work these folks do (or the pay they get for it) to be beneath them, it will continue. Those businesses will NOT PAY a living wage, why would they when they can get the same for less.. Heck, even 35% of Mickey' D's employees are on welfare (and they made MORE than $7 BILLION profit in 2012) because they don't pay a living wage – so American's will mostly NOT DO the kind of work illegals do. Sure, evict and deport the criminal element, but pls don't parrot rw talking points you know to be false.
Guess what, if illegals were not taking those jobs for such a small wage the companies would be FORCED to pay a high wage or have no labor to complete the jobs!!! So if we continue to FOLLOW the laws and deport illegals it will help raise the wage in those low paying jobs! Pretty simple huh???
I love all the righties who all of the sudden want to 'follow the law of the land', who one click away on any other thread are completely against the law of the land.
Wonder how they rectify the fact quoted in this article that Obama has deported more illegal aliens thatn any other President. What!?!? Can't be...
To quote Gurgyl. It's the law of the land, enforce it.

Americans do not consider some jobs beneath them. That is a myth. If you look at the history of immigration in this country, it has occurred in waves of immigrants coming from primarily one section of the world. The waves have lasted for a few decades, and then it shifts to another part of the world.
Immediately following the Civil War it was immigrants most from Western Europe, Ireland in particular. Former slaves were offered jobs, but the offered wages amounted to nothing more than room and board. The same deal as slavery. Slaves declined the offers. Immigrants came into this country, hungry, and looking for work. They accepted those jobs, which the slaves had declined, but the immigrants were also paid meager wages to attract them.
And so it went. Each successive wave of immigrants put down the previous wave, claiming to be harder workers. Unfortunately, they continued to put down the former slaves. And so it went, and before long held tow myths were born. Blacks are lazy, and don't want to work. There are jobs Americans don't want to do.
I know they are myths because I had watched how most all of the upstart landscapers when I was young were Italians. Today, they are mostly Hispanics, but there are few decades hold Italians operations still in business. It used to be that most of the menial jobs at hotels and hospitals were filled by black Americans. Today they are filled mostly by Hispanics.
Why do republican bold faced liars accuse everyone else of being a bold faced liar? Why don't wingnuts ever fact check Fox and Limbaugh before they go nuts?
