Poll: Wheels up, phones off

(CNN) - It may be the only redeeming part of cramming into airplane with a hundred strangers during holiday travel - no one can talk on cell phone. And a new national poll indicates Americans want to keep it that way.

The Federal Communications Commission is considering a proposal to lift a ban on the use of cell phones on airlines to give flyers the same access to communication services as they have on the ground.

Obamacare website gets $47 million price hike

(CNN) - The government has been cagey about revealing how much money has been spent to fix HealthCare.gov, but today officials revealed the overall price tag for the troubled Obamacare website has increased by $47 million.

In Washington jargon, it is called an “increase in the total amount obligated” rather than a price hike. But the end, result is the same.

Polls: Clinton, Christie deadlocked in hypothetical 2016 matchup

Update: An earlier version of this article, in the third graph,  had the McClatchy-Marist poll numbers of the Clinton-Christie hypothetical matchup reversed.

(CNN) - In a possible preview of the next presidential election, two new national polls on Wednesday suggest Hillary Clinton and Chris Christie would be neck and neck if the 2016 contest were held today.
A Quinnipiac University survey indicates that 42% of registered voters nationwide say they would support Christie, the Republican Governor of New Jersey, if he were the GOP nominee, with 41% saying they would back Clinton, the former Secretary of State, if she captured the Democratic nod.

Will Congress carry on Gabriella's fight?

Washington (CNN) – Everywhere 10-year-old Gabriella Miller went, from Philadelphia to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, she brought along a frying pan, and used it to smash a walnut.

It was a tradition that started about a year ago, when Gabriella's father broke the news to his young daughter that she had a terminal brain tumor.

"They told us it was about the size of a walnut in her head," recalls Mark Miller.

Poll: New Jerseyans unfazed by possible Christie 2016 bid

(CNN) - If you think that Garden Staters are concerned that their governor, Chris Christie, will run for president in 2016, think again.

A new poll indicates that most New Jersey residents expect Christie to launch a bid for the White House, and few are bothered by that, even if Christie steps down as governor. And the Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press Poll, released Wednesday, also suggests that the Republican governor could turn New Jersey red in a presidential election for the first time in more than a quarter century.

Obamacare sign-ups hit 365,000, but there's a long way to go

New York (CNNMoney) – Nearly 365,000 people have signed up for Obamacare in its first two months, but that's still a far cry from the 7 million projected to ultimately enroll for 2014.

The pace of sign-ups accelerated in November after the Obama administration worked to solve technical problems with healthcare.gov. Officials say there has been an even bigger increase in traffic in recent weeks.
