Liz Cheney abandons Senate bid

New York (CNN) – Liz Cheney, whose upstart bid to unseat Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi sparked warfare in the Republican Party and within her own family, is dropping out of the primary race, she said on Monday.

"Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family, and under the circumstances, I have decided to discontinue my campaign," the eldest daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney said in a written statement.

Ha, Liz! Hate doesn't give you enough to win these days, unlike in your father's time. You won't be missed.

Wyoming, a state Dick Cheney represented in Congress for five terms before moving up the Republican food chain in Washington.

When did Halliburton enter into the equation ?
Perfect example of an outsider becoming an insider .

Cheney, like her father, is an unapologetic neoconservative who favors muscular use of American military power overseas, a policy that failed to work in Iraq .

Sounds like a commentary position at Fox news is in her future .

She seems to be a chip off the old block, SO MUCH like her father. THANK GOODNESS, once was enough. We don't need another 'His Evilness' ANYWHERE in politics. Save this country from them!

The writer should look up the word "neoconservative" before using it again. Liz would have to be a former liberal to be neoconservative, and it's unlikely either she or her father ever were. One more thing, only liberals use the term neoconservative, so as a non-partisan journalist, maybe you should refrain from using that prefix.

Another one bites the dust. Too bad it wasn't her father who gave up. So many lives could have been saved.

Sounds like someone made the connection, ( Mr.obvious). I don't think she had a real chance, but oh how I would like to know the real reason. Did she realize how much the vast majority of people nearly vomit at the mention of a Cheney in power?
