Obama: ‘Of course’ Fox News is unfair

(CNN) – Fox News Channel, the cable giant whose conservative primetime hosts regularly go after President Barack Obama, is “of course” unfair in its attacks, Obama argued in an interview aired on the network Monday.

The sit-down, conducted by Bill O’Reilly, was taped after a live grilling Sunday night in which O’Reilly quizzed the president on health care, the IRS scandal over the targeting of political action groups and the attack at a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya – all issues conservatives argue were Obama’s fault.

Asked if he was unfair to Obama, the president responded to O'Reilly: "Of course you are, Bill. But I like you anyway.”

“This list of issues you asked about – they’re defined by you guys in a certain way,” Obama continued. “But this is OK. If you want to be president of the United States, then you know you’re going to be subject to criticism,” Obama said, adding he thought the conservative bent has “made Fox News very successful.”

“Here’s what you guys are going to have to figure out: What are you going to do when I’m gone?” Obama asked.

Later, asked if he was the “most liberal president in history,” Obama suggested that Republican President Richard Nixon’s policies could be seen as further to the left.

“When you look at some of my policies, in a lot of ways Richard Nixon was more liberal than I was,” he said, citing the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency during Nixon’s presidency.

It's mind boggling how this administration does not admit a single thing . IRS scandal. Fast and the furious , Benghazi, website debacle , reporter spy gate , foreign leader spy gate , Sebellius the list goes on and on and on Obama simply says " I know nothing" like Sgt. Shultz from Hogan's heroes .

He pretends to be the most clueless president ever , who always says " I know nothing about this "

what else would you expect from the whiner in chief? FOX is one of the VERRY FEW networks/media outlets that IS NOT in Obama's cheer leading squad and actually holds the failure accountable for his actions, inactions, lies and deceptions.

Talk about oil and water.... I really do not like either of the men. Both are talking heads with an axe to grind. But you have to look at FOX NEWS, it is the highest rated cable news network by far. People are watching both Fox and Obama. Will be interesting to see the public posts on this....

Typical Liberal blaming Fox News. They are the only media outlet that is standing between him and his agenda.

If you think FOX is fair or balanced you have no idea who Roger Ailes is. If you wanted a bigger more partisan hack with a bad history you would have a hard time finding anyone near. GOP propaganda like FOX should be banned. It is far past the line of decency and I would say they are nothing more than slanderous and dangerous. Look at the conspiracies hatched at FOX by FOX supported by hearsay of what FOX says. Tabloid at best and that is being more than kind.

Just what did Fox report that Obama thinks crossed the line. Dems are so used to having the big three and CNN in their back pocket that a Fox news is seen as a thing that must be attacked and destoyed. That alone should tell you something.

Obama was asked the questions face-to-face without one of his fall-people, media, or drones to deflect blame/answers upon. It's called being accountable and having conviction for your decisions. Actually, I can't believe a 50 year old man would pout about having to defend his work.

I watched the entire interview and... are you kidding? You ask questions that are "by their nature" unanswerable within the time frame you gave, you cut off the President of the United States like he was some celebrity, and not the leader of our country, and showed a political agenda through your interviewer that, at best showed just how much the Republican Party controls your network, and at worst a pathetic attempt to discredit our leader in front of not only the American people, but the world as a whole. Although, in this day and age, it is impossible to remove the corporate directive from the news that is reported, you should understand that you denigrate our entire country when you choose to push party agenda, and political attack. During a world-wide covered event you could have presented yourselves and your views without embarrassing our nation.

The Country needs news outlets that tell the truth and do not merely support their favorite political party and their favorite political positions. Free and open discussion. Too bad only one network provides all the news all the time. The majority of the media makes me feel like I live in Nazi Germany or Communist Russia where the press only supported the STATE position. In this case its the LIBERAL position.

That's it? That's the take away from the interview? Fox guy claiming conspiracy by Obama's team and Obama claiming conspiracy at Fox?

That's a bag of nothing to read about.

President Obama was too courteous with O'Reilly. Fox News is an extreme channel, and you should go after them like President Clinton went after them before the elections a few years back, and he did it by telling the truth through facts and in a firm way. That's how they get it. These guys are not patriots.

How dare Fox criticize dear leader! Why bother to have an inquiring press when all we have to do is listen to Carney feed the public the truth? Typical progressive hypocrite that thinks the liberal way is the only way, and any dissent should be squashed.

Bill O'Reilly is a business masquerading as an opinionator for big business masquerading as news media. Nothing benefits a nation as much as good government and nothing damages government as much as ignored flagrant conflicts of interest. For too long we've ignored the grave conflict of interest presented by allowing big business to own all of the news media!
