Obama: ‘Of course’ Fox News is unfair

(CNN) - Fox News Channel, the cable giant whose conservative primetime hosts regularly go after President Barack Obama, is “of course” unfair in its attacks, Obama argued in an interview aired on the network Monday.

The sit-down, conducted by Bill O’Reilly, was taped after a live grilling Sunday night in which O’Reilly quizzed the president on health care, the IRS scandal over the targeting of political action groups and the attack at a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya – all issues conservatives argue were Obama’s fault.

Asked if he was unfair to Obama, the president responded to O'Reilly: "Of course you are, Bill. But I like you anyway.”

“This list of issues you asked about – they’re defined by you guys in a certain way,” Obama continued. “But this is OK. If you want to be president of the United States, then you know you’re going to be subject to criticism,” Obama said, adding he thought the conservative bent has “made Fox News very successful.”

“Here’s what you guys are going to have to figure out: What are you going to do when I’m gone?” Obama asked.

Later, asked if he was the “most liberal president in history,” Obama suggested that Republican President Richard Nixon’s policies could be seen as further to the left.

“When you look at some of my policies, in a lot of ways Richard Nixon was more liberal than I was,” he said, citing the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency during Nixon’s presidency.

Go back 40 years and, yes, President Obama looks a lot like a moderate Republican of that era. Reagan wouldn't be able to get elected in today's climate.

Fox News IS unfair. They don't pander to the President, they don't push negative press away, and they speak the truth. How can that be fair. We need a President that does not simply say, "I didn't know about that". Granted he only says this when something bad happens. Otherwise, he is standing there asking, "Did you see what I did?" When will the rest of the news agencies start reporting the news on him. When will CNN do a hard investigation into Bengazi, the IRS scandal, and the Health Care debacle. How about looking deeper into the NSA scandal? Please, we in America want the truth. Start doing some old fashioned journalism. The press should never be an extension of the political parties in this country. The truth is out there.

Fox News is no more unfair than NBC or CNN; he just happens to like the lies the latter two tell. Whatever happened to being proud of reporting unbiased news stories rather than politically slanted opinion pieces passed off as the same?

"'What are you going to do when I’m gone?' Obama asked."

Same thing as before, only with a bigger federal apparatus, a broker country, and less personal freedom in matters such as healthcare.

Honestly, the lack of self-awareness the President reveals is weapons-grade.

Of COURSE Fox News is unfair....because they don't take their orders from the Obama Administration, they don't ask softball questions, and they actually attempt to hold Obama accountable for his statements and his actions. Completely unfair!!!

Which means all the rest of the LIB NETWORKS/PAPERS are propaganda outlets, afraid to ask a TOUGH Question. Our media is totally corrupt...especially the NY Media, anchored by NY Times.

Obama is a crybaby. Fox is certainly not as conservative as MSNBC is liberal. So you don't have EVERYONE in the media on your side. Big deal.

During the presidential campaign the 3 major networks provided the following coverage:

MSNBC - for every one positive Romney article it published, 88 positive Obama stories were ran.
CNN - for every single positive Romney story ran, 25 positive Obama articles were published.
Fox: For every positive Obama story ran, Fox put out 8 positive Romney stories.

So what can we deduce from this? That any criticism of Obama is scathing harassment?

Truth is treason in an empire of lies.

Of course Obama thinks Fox is unfair. Is this news? He can't stand criticism and thinks anyone who has the gall to disagree with him is simply a fool or else is woefully unenlightened.

Oh, because Fox News caused the President's administration to lie about Benghazi, to invest in Solyndra, to have such a weak economy, to have terrible unemployment/underemployment, Fast and Furious, IRS targeting, spying on the AP, and division between races and income.

Fox News didn't create the mess that is this presidency, President Obama did. They're just less inclined to give a free pass as some other networks *cough* CNN *cough*.

Is it fair that many Americans lost their insurance plans under Obamacare (and many more will), when Obama said they could keep them? Is it fair that no one has been held accountable for the Benghazi terrorist attack and murders? Is it fair that on one has been held accountable in the IRS targeting of innocent citizens? Is it fair that this president is abusing his office every day since he stepped into it? All of this and more have nothing to do with Fox news. It's called accountability. Don't be president or secretary of state if you don't have the guts to lead with integrity.

It's unfair that there is only one cable news outlet that doesn't kiss up to Obama? What was clearly unfair is that BO was blaming all of his lies and scandals on Fox News.

Of course Fox news is unfair. Look at all the attention they draw to my compulsive lying and my scandals. They actually expect me to tell the truth, honor my oath of office, and serve the best interests of the American people.

Yeh they're always saying how 'liberal' the EPA is .. and look who created that whole agency, Nixon himself! Man, the irony of that. But they just ignore the facts of the world. They just live in their la la land. Ignorance really is bliss! lol

Sadly, he's right. Nixon was more liberal. Which just goes to show how far to the right the political discourse has moved in the last 40 years. A real liberal would scare fox news to death: instead of Obamacare (originally a conservative/republican idea), we'd get single-payer (like most of Europe). Instead of talking about cutting social security, there would be talk of eliminating the ceiling, lowering the overall rate, and increasing benefits for the poorest recipients.
