Obama: ‘Of course’ Fox News is unfair

(CNN) - Fox News Channel, the cable giant whose conservative primetime hosts regularly go after President Barack Obama, is “of course” unfair in its attacks, Obama argued in an interview aired on the network Monday.

The sit-down, conducted by Bill O’Reilly, was taped after a live grilling Sunday night in which O’Reilly quizzed the president on health care, the IRS scandal over the targeting of political action groups and the attack at a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya – all issues conservatives argue were Obama’s fault.

Asked if he was unfair to Obama, the president responded to O'Reilly: "Of course you are, Bill. But I like you anyway.”

“This list of issues you asked about – they’re defined by you guys in a certain way,” Obama continued. “But this is OK. If you want to be president of the United States, then you know you’re going to be subject to criticism,” Obama said, adding he thought the conservative bent has “made Fox News very successful.”

“Here’s what you guys are going to have to figure out: What are you going to do when I’m gone?” Obama asked.

Later, asked if he was the “most liberal president in history,” Obama suggested that Republican President Richard Nixon’s policies could be seen as further to the left.

“When you look at some of my policies, in a lot of ways Richard Nixon was more liberal than I was,” he said, citing the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency during Nixon’s presidency.

Plus Nixon was more honest and spied on fewer people.

Fox is no more unfair to liberals than MSNBC, CNN, Yahoo news, etc. are to conservatives.

Their 'logic': Say something wacked long enough and supposedly the public believes it en masse. Scary equation, but often true. Cudos to the President for staying classy while OReily is never that way.

Now he's comparing himself to Nixon? I remember Nixon. I was alive during Nixon's presidency. You sir, are no Richard Nixon. The difference between Nixon and Obama is that one of them is a lying cheat who pulled the wool over the eyes of America. And the other one is Richard Nixon.

Hello Barry aka Barack or baraka ( blessing)! ,or Honourable de ( a connective word in Dinka and frence) USA, I had really loved and appreciated the citizens of America specially white citizens ,who had been working with you and agree with your ruling in the gone term and the current term. Your fellow American citizens had work had to make your deternination a real thing and you should keep appreciating them as you usually do and that's why they love you so much. If a tetermined man have such citizens around him the ambitions are always successful. However, I agree with your statement that "if you want to be a president of united states you are going to be subjected to criticism". lastly, may Americans always work with thier top people, for example Presindents and it must remain strong as it is.

Most liberal president in history? LMAO. Not even close. Just goes to show how remarkably out of touch with reality so many conservatives have become. And yes, Richard Nixon was definitely more liberal in his policies than either Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. Time to come out of your little right-wing alternate universe bubble, Tea Partiers. There's a big wide real world out there!

Obama killed Osama, ended Iraq War, reduced foreclosures, reduced unemployment, positive influence on black male murder rates, reduced prison rates, allowed legal marijuana, eliminated predatory bank student loans, improved relations with Cuba and Iran, expanded healthcare for young people.

    Poor baby!
One network calls him out. Bush had CNN, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, every celeb TV host, all the Liberal Newspapers all over him 24/7.

Obama is just another Liberal who cries when things don't come easy enough.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Conservatives think O Reilly didn't go far enough. Liberals think he went to far. As an Independent I just wanted straight no nonsense answers. I didn't get them. There is still and ongoing investigation at the Justice Dept on the IRS issue. Obama said there is no problem in what they did. Pretty confident uneless you have some inside information regarding the an investigation that is still in progress. Being an Independent, I would of liked to have seen an independent investigation. Holder is not independent and may explain why Obama is so convident to the results of an ongoing investigation. It still bothers me why Lerner felt she needed to plead the 5th if there is no problems.

That sounds like our President. If your not for him your against him. The only way you can be fair is to agree with him all the time and not question anything he does or says. He's a lot like a spoiled kid – if he doesn't get his way, he throws a tantrum. It's kind of sad really.

Faux News is run by one of the most right leaning persons....and people who believe the tripe are naïve and just plain moronic. The far right doesn't care about you!!!! They only care about the elite, big business, big oil, corporate farms. And if you think differently, you're a fool.

If you want extreme right wing bias and bald face lies watch FOX. If you want the other extreme watch MSNBC. If you want really unbiased news on cable networks you are SOL.
