Source: Obama offers to stay away from some Senate races

(CNN) - President Barack Obama has told Senate Democrats that he's willing to stay away from election battles where his presence would not be helpful, a Democratic source said - an apparent nod to his poll numbers.

Obama's comments came when he and former President Bill Clinton attended the Senate Democrats' issues conference at Nationals Park on Wednesday.

It will be a loss for those Senators not to have the President beside them. I'd rather be on his coattails and stand up for what I voted for rather than being a coward.

Some Democrats are just running scared of the ACA, which only serves to reinforce the lies and distortions that conservatives have been pushing for the last 4-5 years. I've always thought that Pres. Obama embracing the, what has now become, derogatory tag name, Obamacare, was a grossly miscalculated risk. It was just as much a mistake then as running from the ACA and President in 2014 is now. I guess some folks just need to learn the lessons of 2010 all over again.

The ACA is way more of a factor not Obama. Voters will voice their outrage come Nov.

Obama amd his failed policies have been toxic to this country, people and economy for 5 years now. Why is he willing to spare his fellow Democrats that have done his bidding this very same toxic treatment? If it was good enough for all of us, why should they also partake of the Obama poison?

It is pretty obvious you don't have a CLUE about the lessons of 2010. Obamacare resulted in a huge number of Democrats losing their seats. Now the reality of this disaster is becoming obvious to the entire country as it hits home in terms of higher costs, lost coverage, lost doctors, etc. ANd then Obama wins Liar of the Year for his years of lies.

And the looney left thinks the answer to the problem is to double down on the lies and deceit. It is scary, very scary the dream world that so many lefties live in. Down is up, up is down, lies are truth, truth is lies. And they want to run the country and control your healthcare!

you mean conservatives like the new york times??? come on rudy, time to wake up and smell the coffee. the only lies and distortions told were the ones spouted by obama and his willing droids to jam obamacare down our throats. had the truth been told, this train wreck of a law would never have become law. that wrong must be righted. lies and deceit can never be allowed to win and used to take over one sixth of our economy and damage the healthcare system we all rely on for ourselves and our families.

Most Democrats understand the simply truth, you do not what a liar and cheat like Obama standing by you. It's bad for getting elected. No one wants to be seen as a failure like Obama. Except the few that drink his Kool Aid and believe anything he says.

Well democrats and independents also have the right to not vote for anyone that was elected in 2008 because of President Obama. If they don't want to be seen with President Obama I will not vote for them. Our senator was elected in 2008 because President Obama won NC. The door swings both ways.

Actually, by his own admission, it has been Glenn Beck's toxic rhetoric that has been most harmful and divisive to this country, right along with all of the other echo chambers on the air waves. Beck said that he had no idea that people were so fragile. He hadn't considered that people would take his comedy seriously. He hadn't need look no further than Limbaugh.

@Donna "If it was good enough for all of us, why should they also partake of the Obama poison?"
    ================
I think you meant why *shouldn't* they partake, and the answer is easy: Hillary Clinton is to be spared every discomfort and mistake Obama has made. The Clintons have been planning her election since the early 1990's. The meglomaniacal agreement was to take turns as president. Don't let these crooks pull you in, because nothing in this country will ever be the same. The culture, economy, values are all gone. Remember that in the voting booth. Clinton sent your jobs all over the world over 20 years ago.

What you call coattails, these Senators call ANCHORS. 60% of the country don't trust Obama or believe what he says anymore. Would YOU want the Liar of the Year on stage with YOU? Time to face reality and that is there are fewer and fewer Obamacare Koolaide drinkers. The gig is over. The Democrats refuse to stop jamming it down our throats so you leave the American people little choice but to remove as many Democrats as possible in 2014.

You only have yourselves to blame for this train wreck.

NEWSFLASH: THE GOP IS A GROWING MINORTY

Which is why they do things such as gerrymandering districts, surpressing the vote and implementing voter I.D. laws. They can't win, so they cheat. Look! The President is black! Oh. Look there! There's a latina on the SCOTUS. Can you feel the demographic tide changing?

Maybe the revenge a president is able to take on the country, whether the Clintons, Bushes or Obama, is just too big a risk to take anymore. Maybe the executive branch should be cut off the tree, because all the goodies are gone.

Actually, Tommy, it's pretty obvious that you didn't understand a single word that I wrote. I had actually blamed the ACA for the Democratic losses in 2010. Unfortunately, you are too blinded to see what I am, and what I wrote, for what it actually says. Instead, you prefer to look at it through your ideological lens, and only see what you want to see, namely, the enemy.

gee, this is a new one! blame it on one of the few people that was out there warning the country about this miserable leftist failure of a president. i guess blaming all of obama's failures and lies on george bush has gone out of vogue.

and as usual, it is always somebody else fault.... the lies of the left continue.

Ah. Bad move on the part of the Democrats.
They know nothing about the power of standing united, even though all they have to do is look across the aisle to see that the s hit works.
    Too bad. So sad.

  20. Bill from GA

In states like Georgia where blacks make up a large part of the Democrat voters, his presence might help turnout. And from what I've seen voting in my area, probably 90% black, they need something to get them out. We might would have a Democrat governor in Georgia if the blacks had showed up.

Barry NEEDS the support; its not enough to put him in office, if the right-wing Congress makes him ineffective.

  21. Obama - The new DemocRAT poison

Obama will be the death of the Democrat Party unless he and his lackeys agree to repeal Obamacare. If not, then you will have made your own bed. You simply cannot screw over the American people with regards to their healthcare and not be punished.

  22. The Republican Party Is Dead To Me

This seems counter productive. It would be more advisable to get involved in as many races as humanly possible, and shout from the rooftops about the ignorance, intolerance, prejudice, and downright hatred of the republicans toward the common working man and women of the country. This includes all races and ethnic groups, except white Anglo Saxon elites.

Hate to break it to you Bill from GA, but A LOT of Whites and Latinos, and Asians, oh and women, don't forget the women of all colors, and everything in between turned out to vote for the President.
I do believe that his presence would crank up the turnout period, not just that of Blacks, or as you put it "the Blacks".
    Lol. Lord have mercy.....

Can't wait to see the GOBP stuff Jeb Bush down the tea potty's throats 2012 Mitt the twit style. Those Senators will use President Obama's swing state workers that he used in 2012 to get the votes out.

  25. Wake up People!

Bill from GA.... Is that your way of looking down on the POTUS by calling him Barry? Or rather barry? The only people I've ever heard call him Barry are people that seek to demean him and his Presidency. I'm not sure of your reasoning, but I'm curious to know.

But I will agree about blacks and voting. I tell them all the time you're spitting in the faces of those who gave their lives for our right to vote. Like Dr. King, Medgar Evers and Vernon Dahmer.
