Rand Paul announces suit against Obama administration over NSA

(CNN) – Sen. Rand Paul said Wednesday he’s suing President Barack Obama and top national security officials over the government’s sweeping electronic surveillance program made public by intelligence leaker Edward Snowden.

The Kentucky Republican and the conservative group FreedomWorks are filing a class-action challenge against the government’s phone metadata collection effort, which stores the numbers and call times of phone calls.

Washington (CNN) – La-Z-Boy is about to get some free advertising in Kansas.

Milton Wolf, a conservative Republican primary challenger to three-term Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts, began airing a biting statewide radio ad Wednesday seizing on new questions about the longtime Senator's ties to his home state.

New spots in 2014 Senate ad wars

Washington (CNN) - They are two of the hottest battlegrounds in the 2014 fight for control of the U.S. Senate.

And Wednesday a leading pro-Democratic group said it's going up with TV commercials in North Carolina and Arkansas that target Republicans challenging incumbent Democratic Sens. Kay Hagan and Mark Pryor, who face tough re-elections this year.

Hillary Clinton as a kindergarten teacher?

Fayetteville, Arkansas (CNN) - Hillary Clinton, a woman who's held two of the highest offices in U.S. government, may have originally wanted to become a kindergarten teacher after her eight years as first lady.

The revelation was found in the copious notes and diary of Diane Blair, a close friend and confident to the former first lady.

Fayetteville, Arkansas (CNN) - Shortly before Hillary Clinton’s effort to pass health care reform died in the summer of 1994, the first lady asked a close friend and confidant for advice on “how best to preserve her general memories of the administration and of health care in particular.”

When asked why, according to the friend’s June 20, 1994, diary entry, Clinton said, “Revenge.”
