First on CNN: Christie vacationing in Puerto Rico

Washington (CNN) - On the heels of a major winter storm that blanketed his state with snow, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spent Friday at a resort in Puerto Rico with his family.

CNN was alerted to his whereabouts by a person who saw the governor poolside at a resort in San Juan.

Obama talks a little health care, a lot of hoops in NBA All-Star Game interview

(CNN) –  President Barack Obama praised a football player for revealing he’s gay and took ownership of the term “Obamacare” in a wide-ranging interview with TNT sports analyst and former hoops star Charles Barkley before Sunday's 63rd NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans.

Obama said he respects Michael Sam, a former college football player who announced he is gay last week during interviews with ESPN and the New York Times, for making the announcement before the NFL draft.

Banks cleared to accept marijuana business

(CNN) – The U.S. government issued rules on Friday for the first time allowing banks to legally provide financial services to state-licensed marijuana businesses.

The Justice Department issued a memorandum to prosecutors that closely follows guidance last August largely limiting federal enforcement priorities to eight types of crimes.

At Dem retreat, Biden slams divided GOP

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden jabbed Republicans Friday over factions within the GOP, while also rallying members of his caucus to "aggressively push" the Democratic agenda ahead of this year's midterm elections.

"There isn't a Republican Party. I wish there were. I wish there was a Republican Party. I wish there was one person you could sit across the table from, make a deal, make a compromise, and know when you got up from that table it was done," Biden said Friday morning at the House Democrats' issues conference on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Judge deems Virginia's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional

(CNN) - A federal judge in Virginia has struck down the commonwealth's ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional, according to court documents.

"These laws deny Plaintiffs their rights to due process and equal protection guaranteed under the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution," U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright Allen wrote in her opinion.
