(CNN) - Sarah Palin rallied Wednesday behind Texas attorney general Greg Abbott, endorsing the Republican gubernatorial hopeful and defending Abbott for appearing on the campaign trail this week with controversial rocker Ted Nugent.
"If he is good enough for Ted Nugent, he is good enough for me!" the former Alaska governor wrote on Facebook.
Nugent, a fierce gun rights activist who's known for making outlandish comments about President Obama, campaigned with Abbott at two events Monday. Democrats pointed to some of Nugent's past controversial remarks in an effort to discredit Abbott.
The campaign for Abbott, however, acknowledged it was simply inviting Nugent to help turn out the base during early voting, which began Monday.
Abbott lacks a major GOP opponent in the March 4 primary.
In the same Facebook post, which marked her first endorsements for 2014 GOP primaries, she encouraged voters to support Katrina Pierson, who's challenging nine-term Republican Rep. Pete Sessions.
"Katrina Pierson is an emerging leader and important voice for the future of the grassroots conservative movement," the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee wrote.
Pierson, a conservative activist with tea party support, is a strong backer of Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, has helped campaign for Pierson, who lags far behind Sessions in campaign cash.
The congressman appeared to brush off Pierson's primary challenge, telling CNN earlier this month on Capitol Hill that "these things happen."
Asked if he was worried about the challenge, Sessions repeated that "these things happen."
Sessions represents the Lone Star State's 32nd congressional district, a solidly Republican district located around North Dallas.
CNN's Deirdre Walsh, Paul Steinhauser, Peter Hamby and Dana Bash contributed to this report.
Ted nugent rocks!

Way to go Sarah! It is obvious to even the low-informed liberals that Wolf B. is campaigning for Wendy Davis. He has been slamming Ted all day long. Ted has said absolutely nothing racist about Resident Obama. It is just the usual pro-Obama media. If one disagrees with their god they call them a racist. This is right out of Alinsky's book.

Apparently being low-informed is a universal thing. The phrase Nugent recently used to describe the President, " sub-human mongrel", is right out of the Nazi playbook, and was the sort of term used to describe Non Aryans. Now, you were saying there is nothing racist in that statement, or are you living in the world of conservative victimization where your meaning is somehow virtuous? Blitzer calling Nugent out on his statement was the right thing to do.

I love how she sticks her finger in the eye of east coast elites. Her latest Facebook post with the picture of the soldier standing at attention with an inch of snow on his cap with the caption: "Those who work in D.C. when government offices close for a "snow day"... has garnered over 184k likes. Sarah Palin IS an American hero. No other politician has endured more personal attacks and continues to stand on principle.

And what tanglible accomplishments has her eye-poking accomplished for you? Are you better off as a result, or does being arrogant and insulting just fill you with a warm glow?
This is an ex Governor who controlled a state with the highest rape record. A woman who doesn't care about human life. She is the TRASH of this USA. Senile McCain really put this HO in the spotlight.
