Rand Paul fights for felon voting rights

(CNN) – Tayna Fogle sat just behind Sen. Rand Paul, nodding her head and listening as he pressed the case with Kentucky state senators to restore felon voting rights.

"Kids do make mistakes. White kids make mistakes. Black kids make mistakes. Brown kids make mistakes," Paul told the Kentucky state Senate committee considering a constitutional amendment to restore the voting rights of some felons on Wednesday. "But when you look at the prison population, three out of the four people in prison are black or brown."

This is one thing I agree with Aqua Buddha on. His views on the Voting Rights Act though is a totally different thing.

Waiting to hear the outrage from all the RWNJs. As we all know, if a Democrat that this, we'd hear the end of it!

A 10-year sentence for crack cocaine possession? And not a single Wall Streeter has gone to jail for crashing the global economy?

I don't condone using coke, but something's wrong here, folks.

What does it mean when compromise, reaching across the aisle, and getting things done are black marks on your record?
    ---–
Welcome to the dark radical right corner of the GOP. At least he is out with it. God forbid voters agree but you know where he stands. Dems are the enemy, no quarter, no compromise, no shaking hands. Extreme way or the highway.

LMFAO, according to Dems, GOP are the enemy, no quarter, no compromise (Obama, I will not compromise), no shaking hands. Extreme way or the highway. FIFY Just look at all the posts from the gang here, look at the poster that started blasting the GOP for legislation that LIBERALS presented simply because they did not agree with it they immediately thought is was the GOP (RS)!!!!!!

Not one liberals on here would know what it is like to be bipartisan, you are all the most partisan people I have ever come across, I try not to name call but when every post from people like Tampon Tim are simply insults with NOTHING intellegent to say I can't hold back sometimes!!!!

Senator Rand Paul has several Republican buddies that are felon who are actually in office as a governor, state senator, etc. They can serve and be felon, but felon cannot vote. This is so weird. How about Florida Governor Rich Scott, a 14 time felon out of Texas, moved to Florida and was elected as the Republican Governor. A criminal is actually in charge in Florida. This is the type of people Republicans recruit and run for office.

It's a feature, not a bug. Here's some math that should get the conservatives all angry: Ridiculous mandatory sentencing + using the MSM to drum up a 'war on drugs" and characterize it as a problem only really occurring in the "inner city" and "urban" environments + the inequitable enforcement efforts in those areas versus suburbia and rural Amurika = convenient minority voter suppression.

Says the guy who compared Idi Amin to republicans the other day. Do you realize how offensive that was? Do you understand how disgusting it is to compare a mass murdering dictator to someone you have a difference of opinion with? Both ignorance and hatred in the same line from you and you're to oblivious and blinded by partisanship to even notice it. And, dude, let's be honest here, you have so much hatred for repubs it's palpable. The ironic thing is, that I don't think the same could be said for Fair, Yolanda and certainly myself that we harbor no hatred whatsoever personally towards democrats nor do we feel they are bad people. We simply disagree on topics. You need to realize that just because people disagree with you doesn't equate to hate. Only in the mind of a 5th grader would they draw that conclusion. So, do you honestly want to say you don't hate repubs? Because any other answer than "yes" would be complete fabrication.

We all know that Sniffit is against this because of WHO is talking about this. Boy does this hurt your typical narrative badly. Need I remind you of your post with regards to Rand Paul suing the govt:

"What's really too bad about this is that it takes a legitimate question a lot of people would like answered and undermines it because, well, Randroid's a kooky demagogue who is using this as a political stunt and the people backing it and funding it are complete freekin nutjobs who only suddenly had a problem when it was a black Dem POTUS doing it. The motivations are all askew and that taints the whole thing."

    =====

It's all about the WHO with you. And you demonstrate it again here with your comment above. It's a conservative that is proposing this. It's a conservative that addressed this issue and talked exactly about something that should concern you big time. What's your response? You attack conservatives with an incredible ad-hominem attack.

Tom l – At the risk of upsetting you because you are so super sensitive . . . You crazy right wingnuts compared Obama to Stalin, Hitler and a few others in the very same article. You are not bright enough to figure out how disgusting that was.

Tom I, you mean like voting against your own bills just because the President said he thought they where good?
Well at least Darrel Issa can vote again.

And, if it is actually true in the same article that others compared Obama to Stalin or Hitler and I missed it I will certainly point it out in the future but I don't remember that happening whatsoever. You're just making that part up, I'm pretty sure though...

Race should have NOTHING to do with that. Expunging a criminal record to restore voting rights, should require a significant period of time, free of crimes.......any crimes other than minor misdemeanors, like traffic tickets.

Does this idiot really think he is going to get the votes of felons?

Let's wait and see how many conservatives support the proposal. They have historically always been against it.
