The thing George W. Bush misses about being president

(CNN) - The country's 43rd president speaks. And reflects. And makes a joke – a rather good one.

In a rare public appearance, former President George W. Bush said Wednesday he gets asked if he misses being president.

His short answer: "No."

Oh wait, he takes that back. He said he misses Air Force One.

"I mean in eight years they never lost my baggage," Bush added.

Speaking at the George W. Bush Library Military Service Initiative event in Dallas, Bush went on to discuss a serious topic – veterans’ struggles returning from war.

"I intend to salute these men and women for the rest of my life," he said.

Bush calls out the 99%

Apologizing might be in order, as well.

Unnecessary wars, 9-11, unfunded drug programs, TARP ( 10/16/2008 ), 8 million jobs lost, and more, make him the ideal republican.

Hey Republicans he loved Air Force One. The same plane you criticize our current President for using on the tax payers dime. Where is your outrage? This is unbelievable that the only thing he misses is wasting tax payer money flying around the world. IOKIYAR.

I don't hear any conservatives laughing, not unless they sound like crickets. After all, he did spend 30% of his time on vacation.

O'drama ya Mama you need to read up on how the government is run. The president can not fly on a commercial plane because of his security, If you are going to comment you need to know the laws and how they pertain.

Why don't you call out Obama on his lies??? He knowingly lied right to our face, Bush went off intel that they had, the intel was wrong, that is NOT lying!!! You calling him a liar means you are calling the many many dems (including your fav Hillary) that thought they had WMD also, you and your kind cry about the US proving him with WMD and then turn around and say of course he didn't have any.....hypocrites every one of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pointing out the many deadly and expensive failures of the Bush administration isn't hate; it's the truth that you can't handle.

He was a good president...on the way to being a great one in his first term. Then in his second term, after he became a Democrat, he slipped a little.

Still, much better than we have now.

Here comes the usual double standards about war and the potus. Here is a fact, for over thirty years military personnel have died under a president`s conflicts or his watch. In that time we have had both dems and repubs as the potus. So both sides are equally accountable.

Chris E – Are you referring to Tora Bora? They had bin Laden cornered and the troops were told to stand down. That was December of 2001, and the president was a republican.
