Obama, Harper make bet over Olympic hockey games

(CNN) – When the U.S. and Canada face off Friday in a men's showdown at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, there's more than just bragging rights on the line. There's beer.

President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made a Twitter wager Thursday, with each betting a case of beer from their country.

That bet included the women's championship game that took place between the neighboring countries Thursday, but the U.S. lost in overtime, leaving at least one case of American beer to be sent north across the border.

The men's teams square off Friday in the semi-finals. The winner of that game will go on to the final against the winner of the semi-final between Finland and Sweden.

Naturally, our "patriotic" right-wing friends were rooting for Canada, because Republicans HATE Obama more than they LOVE their country.

he should, he should be singlehandedly saving America while they complain that he's not doing it fast enough by himself without their help plus the roadblocks they continue to put up.

Their commitment to safety was to lobby to limit their liabilities to a mere 2 billion: when you stand to make a hundred billion, that's 98 billion left, no brainer if you just don't care, not their land, wildlife, watershed, we need to fight this

As an American, I would want Canadian beer too! I love our brewers, but Canadian brew is simply better. President Obama should have put something else up – Jim Beam? Maker's Mark? Maybe some of the food from Ben's Chili Bowl in DC? Sounds like a fun bet though. I always enjoy these types between heads of state, governors, etc.

Canadian beer basically sucks. Unless Obama sends a case of Bud or Coors up north. Then both countries are equally guilty of making k r a p beer. And staple Bieber's head to the case while you're at it, prez.
