Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.

Saturday Night Live parodied her remarks in a now-famous sketch with Tina Fey, who played Palin on the show, saying "I can see Russia from my house."

On Facebook, Palin continued to explain how she anticipated a growing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, where there has now been an uncontested arrival of Russian military forces by air at a Russian base in Ukraine's Crimea region. They are believed to be Russian land forces, according to a U.S. assessment.

Political tension grows in Ukraine's Crimea region

"I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as 'an extremely far-fetched scenario' by the 'high-brow' Foreign Policy magazine."

In October 2008, Foreign Policy labeled Palin's prediction as "strange."

From Russia, no love for Yanukovych

Once again, the lady was right on the money. All of the "smart guy", including our current administration and media, were not.

More proof 0bama was and still is the amateur. Our country will be paying in many ways for this election mistake for decades to come.

    Palin was right. Again.

    Obama was wrong. Still.

And yet CNN continues to treat Palin as a joke. Pathetic.

Sigh...in the rush to bash Palin, everyone seems to have overlooked the fact that the President's response to the crisis in Ukraine is weak and mealy-mouthed. Unless Mr. Obama suddenly grows testicles regarding the use of American military power, Putin's response will only continue to escalate. Don't lose sight of the forest because you're looking at the Palin tree folks. Palin is not the issue, the U.S. response is.

Sarah Palin is the biggest reason I changed my vote from McCain to Obama. "What newspapers and magazines do you like to read?" is a softball question, NOT a 'trick question'.

Awe look at all the haters... showing EVERYBODY what a real war on women is!

Face it, Mrs Palin was RIGHT, and America would be better off if she had been elected instead of Biden for VP.

    And everyone knows it.

The Palin haters are so funny, they continue to relive the Tina Fey comedy moment which was very funny but also not anywhere near the truth. Palin is hated because she is feared by the establishment. SP is a good looking female and capable of wooing white female voters (the demographic that put Obama in office) from the liberal side therefore a major threat regardless of I.Q. etc. Hilary is none of what makes Palin appealing (although both have irritating voices) Hilary is a progressive (commie)

It is so funny reading the snarky comments posted about her. Especially about her low IQ which is a fabrication by CNN and its ilk. I think like W most people hear her colloquial speach and assume low intelligence which is ignorant. The irony is that it comes from someone in New Jersey! Do they even know how stupid they sound when they speak? I have two words for you, Jersey Shore.

The libs will sell-out anybody to promote their progressive agenda. Throw the Ukrainians in with the middle east Christians, Venezuelans and Syrians . It's no problem for them if a bunch of people die that don't fit the script. It's all Bush's fault ... right? Way to take responsibility.

Also don‘t forget that the govenor said Obamacare has a death panel. Opponents ridiculed. Media laughed. It ended up being true. I‘m still waiting to hear, "Gov. Palin, we're sorry. You were right. We were wrong."

"If Palin was president, Putin would not be invading"??? Can you explain to us why?

    Exactly,

Palin being right and being seen as "amateur hour" makes this administration look even worse than "amateur".

If one were to completely sabotage ALL US foreign policy what would one do???
    - Allow sanctions on IRAN to end but not stop uranium enrichment
    - Allow Assad to stay in SYRIA
    - Fail to secure agreement in IRAQ for US troops to stay
    - Fail to secure AFGHANISTAN
    - Allow CHINA to threaten it's neighbors
    - Fail to check RUSSIA expansion into ex Soviet republics

    Hmm.... he's doing a heck'ava job

And what would you do Palin, go to War like Cheney. Of course you would and everyone in America knows the GOP/TP are warmongers. Palin and the repubs would be more than happy to send more of Americas young men and women to get killed in another war.

Give the woman her due. She's a lot smarter than your coverage of her and our current administration is a lot dumber than your coverage of them. Most of us get it – it's time you did as well. I guarantee you this. Had Sarah Palin taken that 3 am call from Benghazi she would've gotten out of bed.

Ah, "Tampa Tim", apparently the adults are far from in charge; oh, adults like biden! Seriously now, if they were then perhaps their milquetoast mealy-mouthed "warnings" would amount to something; and well of course, they would've been prepared for the ensuing fiasco in the Ukraine. I recall a certain POTUS during presidential election debates of 2012 telling Mr. Romney: "the cold war is over governor".

And that's why Palin was taken out fast by the lib media. Palin had to be painted as an idiot and Obama as a " brilliant" man. What has the " brilliant" man gotten us? A diasterous outcome. So the message to take away from this, is beware who the lib media paints
    as " brilliant".

This coming from a woman who told the country that Paul Revere was riding to warn the British of us. Her history of ignorance and/or blatant stupidity makes it difficult to believe anything that she says.
